"And we were triple lucky because the weather was good, although we missed two of the eight island due to too much wind. The white night party is not to be missed (in our case combined with the new years eve party) and the Azamazing event was a very good and funny quartet, called Paganini (very nice)...."Read More

1-10 of 280 Azamara Journey Balcony Cabin Cruise Reviews
Pre-Cruise - 3 destinations changed with no reduction in price. Complained to Azamara before we set off and were only given $300 onboard credit as compensation.
Check-In - Some sort of IT failure meant we couldn’t check in for 3 hrs. When IT system came back, even though we’d checked in online pre-cruise, the process of checking paperwork and taking photos etc. took a long time. No drinks, even ...
We choose this cruise because our country (the Netherlands) were in lockdown and the Canary Island not. And because we had heard that Azamara has a high standard of cruising. And indeed they have. We were pampered all the way with an excellent service, very good food, a cozy atmosphere and easy contacts with fellow passengers.
We were lucky to have only 231 passengers on board (instead of the ...
We were a little hesitant about getting aboard a cruise ship again. The crew and staff of Azamara were excellent, we very quickly realised that we were safer on this ship than being at home. The testing at embarkation was swift and very well organised and we were soon given the clearance to board the ship. A small group of us were shown the emergency drill, then onward to our cabin. The ...
This was our 4th Azamara cruise and our third on the Journey. In the past, we liked Azamara because of the small size of the boat, food and service. With 690 passengers, you never feel like you're being herded around. You will get to know a lot of our fellow passengers. Most, like us, are in their 60s and 70s and seasoned travelers.
But, our tastes have changed. The veranda cabins are ...
Thank you JohnnyBumpo for the cruise review. We appreciate it, and your loyalty to Azamara.
One tiny correction...our buffet restaurant is called Windows (not Waves.)
We hope to welcome you...
Food was also above average in both Windows and Discoveries. I was unsure that Aqualina/Prime C was worth the extra money. We did splurge on the Valentine's Dinner in Aqualina, and that was incredible. I loved our waiters (Philbert and Yolana) in Discoveries.
Entertainment was fun. Loved Jessie on the saxophone but sad to hear she was a one sailing fill in. Azamara Evening with the ...
We are experienced cruisers and have tried a number of different cruise lines over many years. Overall, we enjoyed this cruise despite the disappointment of missing Raratonga due to the poor weather and conditions too dangerous to permit safe tendering. But the food was a huge disappointment and on the basis of that alone I do not expect we will ever choose Azamara again.
At the outset we ...
We chose this cruise because we were interested in seeing the South Pacific and New Zealand and the package deal we got included airfare, unlimited internet and trip insurance (important, as my husband and I are in our mid-60s). We missed our flight and the ship's sailing from Tahiti, so had to board in Bora Bora, the second port on the itinerary. Checking in was fast and efficient - everything ...
Hawaii has been on a bucket list for years and having sailed on Azamara Journey before and liked the small friendly ship, this looked like a great trip. It was a lot of sea days, 11 out of the 18 on board. It was rough weather coming out of LA, high winds and high seas, but on the whole Journey handled it well, even if sleeping was somewhat like dozing off on a roller coaster.
The staff are ...
In a nutshell: Consistently best food we’ve had on a cruise ship. Special events were well above most other cruise lines. Service was good, but lacked the “sparkle” of other high end (and more expensive) cruise lines that try harder to exceed your expectations.
We took this cruise because it was my mother-in-law’s 82nd birthday and Tahiti has been on her bucket list since she was a child. ...
This was a 5 day cruise from San Juan. We wanted to try another 5 ½ star ship. We had to turn in our rental car at 9 so we got to the ship early. It was not docked in old San Juan but at the other port. We were able to carry our luggage onto the ship enabling us to board very early. They took our luggage to our cabin freeing us up to eat lunch and explore. This was one of the most beautiful ...
