We chose this cruise ship on the advice of our travel agent. It was amazing! We chose to spend one day in port on the ship, we planned a couple of excursions on our own through Viator, a couple of transfers through Azamara and one on our own. Everything went perfectly! The one "excursion" that we planned on our own was the Great Italy Tour of the Bocelli Winery and restaurant. Here is the link: https://greatitalytour.com I cannot recommend this tour enough! It was the most incredible and personal day ever! From the first time I reached out to them, to the pickup at the port, touring the countryside, the food and wine and the best driver and tour guide EVER, this was the best excursion we have ever been on in all of our travels. This was the most expensive of the excursions that we planned and almost considered not booking it but, on the recommendation of a friend, we did and are so glad we made that decision. My advice: Spend the money and cut back somewhere else if need be. It's that good! Now, the cruise: The staff of this particular cruise went above and beyond at every turn, the ship is beautifully decorated and we loved that this cruise was all inclusive; beverages, food and gratuities. I honestly don't know how anything could have been better on this ship. It was a perfect holiday! Highly recommend! Read Less

Overall, a very good cruise. We were on a Thanksgiving Day cruise to the eastern Caribbean, with port calls at five islands. Getting the negatives out of the way first. Cabins are very small, and the bathroom and shower are extremely tiny. We spent very little time in the cabin, so size was not an issue, but I did hear many gripes about the teeny tiny bathroom and showers from other passengers. The "White Night" evening dining experience in St Marteen was a total fiasco, with long slow lines for food, insects on food, limited food selection, crowded dining conditions. Passengers made it worse by attempting to reserve tables first, then getting in the long food lines. Someone would place a flower or a book on a table for six and then claim they had "reserved" the table. Ridiculous, we did like many and just ignored their inconsiderate reserve nonsense. Of course, this led to a few heated discussions, but you meet a few jerks on every cruise. So silly the way some women dress up in evening gowns and stiletto heels on a ship that emphasizes casual dining. The cost of internet service is absurd, and this service should be free, included in the cost of the cruise fare. Moreover, additional computer terminals are needed in the internet "in touch" cafe. The land excursion department blew it badly in the British Virgin Islands for the "Schooner Sail Away and Swim." The tender pulled up to the dock and no one from Azamara was there to direct people where to assemble for the tour. Then, the ship cut the tour short one hour, claiming they had to depart the port on time. As a token apology, Azamara refunded one-third the cost of the excursion. They should have refunded the entire cost of the land excursion, since they did not live up to the terms of tour contract. Disembarkation on the last day of the cruise was another fiasco, with no one from Azamara outside in the parking lot to direct people to buses which would take them to Miami International Airport. Making matters worse, Azamara employees were cutting into the customs line and going to the front, like they had some special privilege and were superior to everyone else. This created an extremely poor public relations image of Azamara and needs to be corrected immediately before I would ever consider going again on an Azamara cruise. There is no excuse for Azamara employees to be cutting into the customs line, like they are someone special. Positives were many and made for a great cruise. Our cabin attendants were among the best I have ever seen. There was nothing they could not do in an effort to please us. Every little detail and request was immediately handled in a cheerful efficient manner. Fantastic incredible service, and I had no problem giving the cabin attendant generous gratuity. Same for the dining staff. The food in the Windows Cafe was superior, with a huge selection for all three meals. Wait staff service was beyond belief, friendly, efficient, and courteous at all times. Cabins have a flat-screen TV which also allows you to review your on board account, store purchases, purchased land excursions, ship credit, etc. The bow camera channel provides weather information, time, ship position course and speed, etc. You can also make maintenance requests, order room service, request items for your cabin, etc, all through the interactive flat-screen TV. Public areas on the ship are beautiful and very comfortable, with a bonus of never being crowded, a distinct advantage of a small ship. I note that virtually all ship personnel will greet and acknowledge you when passing in the passageways and other locations. Doors are held open for passengers, and all staff are always eager to help and assist, if needed. This is an adults only ship, which makes it so nice. There is absolutely nothing for children or teenagers to do on this ship and no special place for them. All activities are geared for mature adults only. So please do not ruin it for everyone else by bringing your kids with you on this ship. Moreover, your kids will be so bored that they will drive you and everyone else nuts. Be considerate, leave the kids and teens home or take them on a Carnival cruise. Riding a small ship is great, in that you can visit smaller ports and see foreign people up closer in small towns. Azamara Quest operates its own tenders, and we were often greeted with cold towels and drinks, upon return to the pier for the ride out to the ship. Read Less

This was the first time sailing on Azamara and we were very impressed. The cabins are very comfortable but the balcony was smaller than we expected as it was not big enough for a couple of sunbeds. Saying this the sunbeds on deck were very comfortable and there were plenty of them. The staff are absolutely fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. With drinks and gratuities included we found the price very reasonable. The food was very, very good and it was always served with a smile. French Onion Soup, Steaks, Lobster were some of our favourite meals. The entertainment was quite good and the entertainment team excelled with a great 'white evening' (the best party we have had onboard any ship and we have been on lots) and the azamazing evening was wonderful. We were disappointed the stop at Kuda Bandos was cancelled but trusted the excursion team when they suggested getting a boat to one of the islands. We decided to do this and were taken to what I can only describe as a building site, not really what you expect in the Maldives. I wish we had been given better advise as we would just have stayed onboard and saved our money. We feel as though the excursion team really let us down by not doing their homework properly. The cruise it self was around southern India, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives and apart from the Maldives we were absolutely fascinated by all the different places we visited, the traditions, the people, the buildings, even the noisy, hairraising traffic were unforgettable experiences. We chose Azamara because rumours said it is a pleasant ship for seniors. Only 600 very friendly and social pax. A wonderful crew spoilt us rotten, food was excellent and allthough we love our grandkids, we do appreciate a cruise with no kids. It is also nice not to have to sign or show your key-card every time you have a drink, a glass of wine or a cappuccino. Entertainment was OK - but the star of the show was the on board lecturer Prof. John Johnson's 5 lectures on 'The great American Songbook'! He lectured, played the piano and sung - Gerswin, Berlin and others. Wonderful! Hope we will meet him again on another cruiseship. Ports were interesting! Port Antonio, La Romana and Nevis gave us a colourful and good reminder goods in this world is not evenly distributed, and Willemstad, Gustavia, Philipsburg and Virgin Gorda gave good retail therapy. Beautiful nature throughout. The only 'cloud' on this cruise was all the soot from the funnel that landed on our aft cabin... Read Less

We loved the Aramara experience! We've cruised with Disney, Royal Caribbean and Carnival in the past, but this was very different. The food was great and that includes the Greek buffet that was served on our sea day. So good! We also enjoyed the white nights event and the staff was so accommodating. At the dinner, we couldn't find an open table, so the staff went into the nearby library and carried out an oak table for us to sit at. Totally unexpected, but much appreciated. We enjoyed the azamazing evening at Ephesus as well as the guest tenor from Florence performing on the ship while docked in Venice. Listening to a beautiful voice, under the stars in a beautiful city is something I will never forget! The captain was also very visible and everyone (including the staff) seemed to enjoy his humor and presence. We are in our early 50s and we were some of the younger cruisers, but enjoyed ourselves immensely. I would definitely cruise with Azamara again! Read Less

This was our first Azamara cruise and we liked it so much, we've already booked our next one. We were fortunate to be the first passengers after the refit in Singapore and we found a beautifully appointed ship with comfortable places to relax, have a drink, meet friends, eat a wonderful dinner, or have a quiet moment. What we loved about the size of the ship is there are no lines like you get on the standard cruises - no long wait to embark, no hunting for a table at breakfast or lunch, no lines to go off on a shore excursion, no lines at any of the dining venues, and always a comfy lounger by the pool! Everything was elegant, civilized, amazingly clean, comfortable and relaxed. Nothing was snobby and I was happy to see people had left the ball caps and cut offs as well as the ball gowns at home. We met people from all over the world and everyone was warm and friendly. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the service. Every single person, from the cabin attendants to the Captain were friendly, helpful and available to all the guests and we each were made to feel like family. We filled out a survey on the third day about how things were going. I mentioned that the entertainment in the Living Room during the cocktail and tapas hours was too loud for conversation. I received calls from the cruise director, the head of hotel services and from guest relations. The music was immediately toned down (and the number of people in the bar increased) and I was thanked several times for speaking up. Everyone made an effort to know our names, and after the first few days, knew what we liked to drink and where we liked to sit. We chose to add the "Like" package to our cruise and would definitely do it again. This program came out after we had booked our shore excursions which meant we had to cancel some before the cruise to use the $400 credit for excursions booked on-board. I stressed about this, for no reason it turns out, because there was room available on all the excursions we had cancelled. I was very pleased with the unlimited wi-fi and posted lots of pictures for family and friends to follow. As well, we were happy with the included liquor package upgrade and were able to choose everything we usually drink at home. We also added a dining package and ate at Aqualina two nights and Prime C one. Next time we'll switch it up. Both are excellent although I felt the lighting in Aqualina could be dimmed a little for more atmosphere. We spent a few days in Singapore before the start of the cruise which let us recover from the very long plane ride from home and explore this very interesting (and ridiculously clean) city. We easily mastered the metro and saw the Botanical Gardens, Gardens by the Bay, rode the Singapore Flyer, took a bumboat ride and a trishaw tour. We also became somewhat acclimated to the high heat and humidity that we would experience wherever we stopped on the cruise. I would recommend a visit here for anyone passing through this way. Only one shore excursion took us to the dreaded 'craft sale' but it did have a western bathroom which was a redeeming factor. We saw a lot, learned even more and have so many memories. Read Less
