The Azamara Pursuit provides a good, solid, mid-market/premium experience. Embarkation was almost too fast and efficient. The staff had us aboard the ship, being hustled to the safety briefing. before we knew it. We felt we missed out on the joy of arriving and embarking on a new cruise adventure.

We spent 18 nights aboard Pursuit from Cape Town to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. The ship had a serious gastrointestinal infection aboard that was badly mishandled by Pursuit's crew. In the weeks since our disembarkation social media is reporting the gastrointestinal issues were related to South African bottled water, and after that water supply was replaced by Spanish water all returned to normal. ...

We chose this cruise as a celebration for my partner's special birthday. A couple of hours before boarding we found out that the ship had a very bad problem with Norovirus and was in a red state of alert.

Dealing with Azamara precruise was a nightmare. They actually "lost" one of our bookings and don't get me started on their website!!
We were therefore very pleasantly surprised at how well our cruise went. The fact that there were less than 400 passengers may have helped but everything from embarkation on was so easy. Never had to queue for anything.

This was our second time on the Journey, we previously had sailed a Baltic’s itinerary in 2018. We loved that itinerary, this one was not as good for us. Be aware that the ports are chosen for the safari tours you can take from the ports, not the actual ports. There is really nothing to do and most are very poor. Be sure to plan excursions!
