This was our first cruise with Azamara having cruised around fifteen times with other companies. Embarkation was seamless with no queues at all - we arrived at the ship at 1230 for an 1800 sailing. Disembarkation was slower that seemed to be caused by USA immigration procedures.
The cruise started in Barcelona with stops in Gibraltar, Huelva (Spain) then St Maarten, Virgin Gorda before ...
Maybe my expectations were too high. Having cruised Oceania and Regent as well as many other lines, I was under the impression Azamara was 6 star.
Embarkation and disembarkation were efficient and painless
The staff were lovely, and very helpful , trying to sort out problems they didnt have the resources to.
The entertainment was very limited, a guitarist, a pianist, the evening shows. ...
First timers on Azamara, have earlier cruised with Celebrity and RCCL and this is the smallest cruise ship we have been on.
Embarkation: We arrived at 13:45 to the port. The embarkation was very smooth, no lines and it took just 10 minutes until we got on board. The state room was ready at 14:00 and the bags arrived soon after that.
Ship and cabin: Over all very good maintained, of course ...
My husband and I have travelled a lot. Approximately 30 cruises. 20 on Princess then decieded to give the other cruise lines a chance. This was our second Azamara cruise and we thouroughly enjoyed it. We ate at the speciality restaurants and signed up for the new Asian dinner as well as the Chef"s Table. Food was delicious. Highly recommend it.
We had a great time in the Disco most ...
We have always enjoyed ourselves on the Azamara line, which is small and friendly. However, this time we noticed that they have significantly downgraded the standard of their restaurants. Firstly, the buffet lunch in Windows used to have an exotic range of salads, i.e. seafood salad etc. Now these have been cut out and replaced with a very mundane selection. In the evening, the Discovery ...
Our experience with Azamara did not come close to meeting our expectations. The purpose of this review is to give an honest perspective from a couple in they're early forties, who have traveled extensively through Europe and the US. We love great food, service, travel and are willing to pay for it. We also like the idea of a more all inclusive, smaller ship environment. We have sailed with ...
We have just returned from our very first cruise with Azamara, a seven day dry-dock replacement cruise, which I think meant that it was planned at fairly short notice when dry dock repairs etc were not possible for that week. For this reason, we did not experience the 'Azamazing evening' excursion, which is a usual feature of Azamara cruises. But everything else was nicely in place, including a ...
Prior to the cruise we stayed at the Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya by Barcelona Sants Station. The hotel was fabulous with great city views from the upper floors. The cost of the taxi to the port was 10 euros whereas if you get a taxi from the station it is 18-20 euros (I have no idea why there is such a price differential).
We arrived at the port around 11.10 am and were checked in fairly ...
Our fourth time on Quest and, as always, we had a wonderful time. After a great three days in Barcelona we took a taxi to the cruise terminal. Our driver headed to the outer terminal, but Quest was tied up right next to the main terminal; one of the lovely things about being on that size cruise ship is that it can dock right in town! Our check in was quick and we were delighted to see our ...
Though the Azamara Quest is going in for a multi-million dollar refreshing I found the ship to very ship-shape. It had a genteel old world ambiance that was a fit with its well traveled and mannered guests. The crew understood the proper balance between personal and professional. Captain Carl was seen all about the ship and exuded and air of competence, humor and friendliness. All the little ...
