First, the positive impressions - as compared to my expectations:
- Service was outstanding! They were right on top of everything without being overbearing.
- Cruise itinerary due to smaller ship size. Even when tenders were required it was efficiently operated.
- Food quality and presentation.
- Dining room atmosphere. Noise level was low with no disturbing background music. ...
We have sailed on a wide variety of cruises from a pricing perspective, with Azamara running towards the higher end. We chose this cruise based largely on its self-description as a port intensive, all inclusive journey. We found neither to be the case. Two of the ports were particularly disappointing. Invergordon, the port for Inverness, is a small town with very little going on, and is a 45 ...
Having cruised multiple times but never on an Azamara ship, I was anxious to experience what she had to offer. I chose the Quest for the itinerary around Scotland. Even with the residual covid problems, crew in masks etc., the ship was fantastic.
I loved the smaller size of the ship, the upscale food and the way it was beautifully presented. Our captain was very friendly and often seen around ...
We did Norway in the winter on Viking and couldn’t wait to return to our favourite country with Azamara and a Norwegian captain.
Embarkation in Dublin was very easy, there are no port facilities so it was part in a tent off ship and part indoors in the Lounge. Despite this it was one of the smoothest embarkations we have experienced. It was probably a lot of hard work for the crew though! ...
We chose this cruise due to the Perry Golf package, which was very well organized and executed. We like Azamara because it is smaller, and particularly because of their focus on destination immersion, with late night and overnight port stays.
That said, we did have some changes to our itinerary, in particular we left Edinburgh earlier than initially scheduled, which required us to change ...
The cruise was chosen because it did 3 overnight stays. We had read previous reviews and did not know what to expect but we felt ports would be exactly what we wanted
The first thing to say is the staff, crew and officers are superb. They try to meet every request.
The food we thought was amazing. I don't know what other people eat in their day to day life who complain?
The cabin was an ...
First of all - Cruises ARE NOT my choice of travel - but went with a friend who has been on 20+ cruises
and likes Azamara. Personally I prefer to 'chart my own course' - I don't need/want to be
herded onto a boat. Too much time is wasted at sea - too little time to explore interesting
cities.
The POSITIVES....I like the smaller boats- this was especially the case as St Petersburg ...
We booked this cruise to get a comparison of our extensive experience with Viking. We’d lost our affinity for Viking due to a nasty situation regarding a cancelled cruise credit due us. So, we felt Azamara might be our next logical choice to try.
Embarkation: We landed at 7:00 am in London, waited in a crowded seating area for other passengers to board a bus to Southampton. That was okay, but ...
We sailed in July with Azamara for the second time. Our first cruise with Azamarawas on the Pursuit in the Autumn of last year. The only real difference we could see between the ships was the Casino, when that is removed and the Lounge becomes bigger it is a definite improvement. However The Journey is a lovely ship, we did not notice any shabby areas, she gleamed!
Add to the experience the ...
There were 6 of us on this cruise, one couple with 4 other women. We started our trip with 3 days in London. Some of us had been on the Journey before and looked forward to coming back. Those new to it loved the cruise. We choose this for the ship and the itinerary. The service was excellent as expected. We loved "welcome home" every-time we returned to the ship. Embarkation was slow ...
