First Time on Azamara Maybe the Last

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Azamara Pursuit

The Norwegian Fjords were on our bucket list. We had one planned on Celebrity in 2020 but that was cancelled due to Covid. We kept looking and find one on Azamara that went where we wanted to go. We have cruised on Celebrity (we are Elite Plus), Oceania, Viking, and Royal Caribbean. Azamara used to be part of the Royal Caribbean family but that changed in February. We were still excited to go even ...

First time on Azamara. Enjoying the smaller ship (700 passengers). Nicely refurbished. Cabin corridor however, seems under lit to me. Free Launderette on Deck 7 (mid ship) Washer, Dryer and Soap. Opened 8am to 9pm. Staff have been remarkably polite and attentive. Gold star. Food in the 2 speciality (extra fee) restaurants (Prime C - Steakhouse) and (Aqualina - ...

Nice but not special

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Azamara Pursuit

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and because we’ve travelled before on an “R” class ship (one of Oceania’s). We travelled from New Zealand to London to see friends after 3 years of covid lockdown separation. Having been caught out by travelling to the port on embarkation day in the past we built a day into our itinerary to get from London to Bordeaux. This worked in our favour as the ...

Great itinerary but not what it used to be

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Azamara Pursuit

The sail-in to Sevilla, Spain alone was worth the trip. We were so very lucky with the weather too, not a drop of rain the entire time. Unfortunately, Azamara's service has declined and no longer offers what once was a family and familiar atmosphere. The familiar "Welcome aboard/Home" greetings are gone. Most staff (wait and bar staff being the exception) just go through the motions. Hard to ...

Decent cruise, lots of people got sick

We did both this cruise and the subsequent leg (Transatlantic in Cabin 4060. Positives --The ship is well laid out and easy to get around. --With the exception of the Officers' BBQ (come early!) and the White Night (come early!) it was easy enough to get a seat at any dining venue whenever you liked. --The crew was well trained, helpful, and seemed to enjoy their work. --The local ...

Spent three nights in Nice pre-cruise then experienced the smoothest embarkation ever. Out of the taxi, luggage whisked away, straight onto the ship where check in was in the Cabaret Lounge. Got our key cards, grabbed a glass of bubbly and went to sit in the Mosaic Café. Decided to have lunch in the Windows Café and it was lovely. Really liked that you were served in the buffet rather than ...

It was to be a luxury cruise with family members. Despite completing all pre boarding requirements it took over an hour. We were asked to show our passports four times. Poor organization! Food choices an d preparation outstanding. service tried hard but often inexperienced. Excursions few and poor. Nightly entertainment the worse I’ve seen. Disliked open seating. Never the same waiter or ...

Absolutely brilliant time had by all. Cabin great, a lot bigger than I was expecting and we were well looked after by our room attendant, sometimes to the point where it became a little bit irritating as he was ALWAYS there, nonetheless cannot fault his work and cabin was always clean and tidy each day. Food was amazing, lots of choice and catered to all tastes. If you couldn’t find ...

Love Azamara but..

We chose this cruise because we like the small ship experience with lots of sea days. We wanted to see Rio and Lisbon. Embarkation was a bit off-putting. We already had our bags tagged with our room number and did not need assistance getting our bags to the drop-off point. There was no place to drop our bags and we had to stand in line while others that used the porters were taken care of. Our ...

This was our first Azamara cruise, having sailed before mainly with Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. We were expecting it to be a step up from the other lines but we found it wasn’t. The Officers and staff we found to be very friendly. Training of staff in some areas was certainly lacking. You wouldn’t expect a waiter to need a table plan to take you to your table and still get it ...
