Review for a Cuba Cruise on Azamara Journey

We are a British couple in our sixties. This was our second Azamara cruise. Embarkation at Miami took the best part of an hour, complicated by queuing to get and complete the Guest Travel Certification form for Cuba before proceeding to another queue for check-in. It would have been nice if those of us who had downloaded and completed the form prior to arrival could have been ...

First, it was a great cruise. Was it outstanding, sorry no. The ship is nice, it´s small but we found everything we needed. Embarkation was good and fast, disembarkation a little chaotic but that was the fault of the passengers that couldnt wait for their color. Our cabin was good. We heard a lot of negatives about the front facing cabins but we actually liked it and the view is gorgeous. ...

After flying in to San Jose, CR we stayed overnight at Apartotel La Sabana (very nice/good value) and toured across CR with a tour that we had arranged with 3 other couples through Odyssey Tours (very nice). Got a great view of Poas volcano, lunch at Freddo Fresas (great place) and stopped at La Paz Gardens (OK). We boarded the Journey in Puerto Caldera. The boarding experience was routine. We ...

There was a little confusion upon boarding, the information we were sent boarding did not begin until 4:00 but when we arrived the ship was almost completely boarded. As the ship was full reservations at the premium restaurants were only available late at night. The ship was very clean and there was no evidence of any problems with the plumbing. The food in Prime C and Aqualina is excellent ...

The GOOD Service - at every level of interface with the crew responsible for making the guests comfortable and welcome did an outstanding job. From the welcoming crew, to the housekeeping staff, to the bartenders, to the food service staff and the captain's staff, everyone was engaging and helpful. Lots of smiles and upbeat conversations for the entire time we were on-board. Required Safety ...

The Azamara Journey is a great ship. Beautiful, stately, small. All the things we like. Attentive service from a multi-national crew. Our bar service guys, Jose Jaimes and Alin were the best!!! Our butler, Angela (Alin's wife, I understand!) and her assistant Jose (whose wife just had twins!!) could not have done any better for us. As it is open seating in the dining rooms, we had many different ...

We're back from a very nice 16 night cruise onboard the Azamara Journey. We had a great time, and accomplished our goal of getting lots of rest and relaxation while not rushing to do anything, whether it was attend a show or go on an excursion. Executive summary: We enjoyed our introduction to the Azamara product. I can't honestly say that I was blown away by the overall experience, and I don't ...

My first cruise on a ship with more than 40 passengers was a 16-day affair on Azamara Journey from Miami to Los Angeles via the Panama Canal. We had stops in Aruba; Puntarenas, Costa Rica; San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua; and in Huatulco, Acapulco and Cabo San Lucas , all in Mexico. We arranged our own airfares and hotel in Miami in order to use air miles points. Aeroplan hammered us for 200,000 ...
