We chose this cruise because we like ships that are on the smaller side. There were 616 passengers on our cruise. There was a blend of people from different countries, although United States was by far the most. As others have said, it was so disorganized leading up to the cruise that I was worried. However, once we got to the pier, everything was perfect. We arrived early since we had to check ...
We wanted a smaller ship, with less people, which would go only to the islands and location in Greece.
Did not want to repeat beginning or ending in Venice, Barcelona, or Rome.
Wanted an adult demographic.
Wanted upscale quality of food as we preferred avoiding the Buffet crowds when wanting to have the relaxing and quiet meals. Buffet quality was great, when time was a concern and needed ...
We chose this cruise over a year ago with the expectation of going to the Greek Isles and Israel. However, a week before the ship was due to leave on April 15th from Athens Greece, we were notified that our cruise has been redirected to Egypt with tours to Alexandria and Cairo to see the Pyramids due to the turmoil in Israel. I know the ships' captain was looking out for the welfare of the ...
We specifically booked this trip for the 4 days in Israel. It was my 4th booking for this (or similar) sailing; Azamara cancelled the first 2 and the 3rd was cancelled by covid. Sadly due to the current situation Azamara changed our intinerary.
1) they did a good job with the last minute plans for Egypt, I would have been extremely disappointed if this had turned into a Greek island ...
We booked this cruise because it offered 4 port days in Israel. The day before we were to get on the ship, while we were in transit to the ship, the itenerary was changed. Israel was taken off of the itenerary. This was a major disappointment. This is a old ship that has had upgrades, but not to the degree that one would expect for a so called luxury class cruise. The cabin was barely adequate ...
First time on Azamara.
Enjoying the smaller ship (700 passengers).
Nicely refurbished.
Cabin corridor however, seems under lit to me.
Free Launderette on Deck 7 (mid ship)
Washer, Dryer and Soap. Opened 8am to 9pm.
Staff have been remarkably polite and attentive.
Gold star.
Food in the 2 speciality (extra fee) restaurants (Prime C - Steakhouse) and (Aqualina - ...
I sailed on the January 5, 2023 12 night Caribbean voyage from Miami. This was my 4th cruise on Azamara, the most recent being in July 2022 (Journey), December 2019 (Quest) and before that a 2008 voyage on Quest when the line was in its infancy. My most recent experience left me disappointed in quality of both food and entertainment, and what I consider to be a poorly managed ship that is still ...
While searching for cruise-related information on the internet, I noticed an offer from Azamara for a last-minute deal on a cruise to Cypress, Israel, and Egypt. The price was excellent--less than I had just paid for a Princess cruise of the same length 2 months earlier. When I first saw the ship from the outside, I was taken aback as it appeared to be a much older-looking ship than I imagined. ...
BACKGROUND AND BOTTOM LINE
Avid cruiser, many times with Holland and Cunard.
First time on Azamara and was in a suite. It will be our last. Exceedingly poor value.
THE GOOD
The shore excursions. While they contract with others to do them, they still get some credit for it.
The size of the ship.
The itinerary.
THE BAD
Communication before and after the cruise was ...
We travelled From Piraeus - Dubai on Azamara Quest, from Oct 29 - Nov 15.
We boarded the Azamara Quest in Piraeus (Athens) and after we finally got onboard, we started to have a great time.
There was a delay of nearly 2hrs to board the ship, due to only 1 customs agent working at the Port.
We went straight to our safety demonstration once onboard, then off to the cabin , we were greeted ...
