Best in Cruise Awards

16th Annual

Each year, real cruisers and experts award exemplary cruise lines. Learn more on how winners are chosen.

Best Cabins

Awards given in cabin-related categories, including staterooms/cabins, suites and suite complexes.

Best Cabins

  • Celebrity Ascent bedroom in Penthouse Suite

    Celebrity Cruises

    • Best Cabins Winner
    • Ocean Winner

We are big fans of Celebrity's Solstice-class cabins (and have a fondness for the Millennium Class, too), but the line's Edge Class saw Celebrity raise the bar even further. The line’s Infinite Balcony cabins are game changers, increasing the size of your room, creating an instant sunroom or even a separate space if you want some quiet time. It’s as if the line was predicting the future with the Edge Class: modern and sleek, with high-end fixtures and fittings and cleverly designed to maximize space.

    Silversea Cruises

    • Best Cabins Winner
    • Luxury Winner

Cabins on Silversea Cruises are so good, you’ll never want to leave them. Really more like suites, each room – no matter the ship – offers exceptional space and comfort. Silversea’s rooms come with plush bedding, and guests can choose their favorite pillow from an actual pillow menu. Many of the staterooms offer deep bathtubs for an indulgent experience complete with bespoke bath amenities. Best of all, butlers service all staterooms, providing excellent, intuitive service, including in-room dining or even caviar and Champagne.

  • Avalon Waterways' Panorama Suite (Photo: Avalon Waterways)

    Avalon Waterways

    • Best Cabins Winner
    • River Winner

Avalon Waterways' cabins feel like home away from home, emphasizing comfort and incredible views. Panorama Suites, Avalon’s crown jewel cabin type, offer queen-sized beds that face the floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall sliding glass doors and open-air balconies. Space is never sacrificed, even in the Deluxe Staterooms, the smallest rooms. Small touches in every cabin abound as well, like adjustable in-cabin tables, plenty of USB ports, large bathrooms and four firmness options in all mattresses.

  • Seabourn Venture Panorama Suite

    Seabourn

    • Best Cabins Winner
    • Expedition Winner

Calling a Seabourn suite a 'cabin' is a misnomer: These rooms, even at entry level, are stunning spaces, with huge walk-in closets, drying rooms, bathrooms with tubs and vast double-bed and living areas. Suites are so well thought out, with multiple outlets and USBs, recessed areas for water bottles and separation curtains. As for the Panorama Veranda suites (among our favorites at sea): Even though they don't have the separation curtains, they have stunning floor-to-ceiling windows and beds that face them, for the ultimate view from bed.

    MSC Yacht Club

    • Best Suites Complex Winner
    • Ocean Winner

Love the finer things but also love to take advantage of big-ship entertainment and amenities? Then treat yourself to a cabin in the MSC Yacht Club, the suite complex hosted on most MSC ships. In the Yacht Club, guests have their own butler, who makes sure you get premium seats in the theater and are first out of the door with excursions. The Yacht Club also boasts its own restaurant, where the menu changes daily, as well as its own pool, sundeck and daytime buffet. What’s nice about the Yacht Club is the variety of cabins, too -- including more budget-friendly inside cabins.

How the winners are chosen

Cruise Critic’s Best in Cruise Awards combine the experience of our team’s cruise experts with the voices – and reviews – of real travelers who love cruising just as much as we do. Our editors this year have spent hundreds of nights at sea on dozens of cruise lines and choose the best based on their collective onboard experiences and industry knowledge. Our Cruisers' Choice awards are based on the best-reviewed cruise lines of the past year from real cruisers. A minimum number of reviews is required to be considered.
