We were disappointed in the Avalon service compared to our experience on a Uniworld River Cruise on the Danube River. The Avalon Visionary is much nicer than other ships to which we had access due to the double and sometimes triple docking at ports along the way. The clean, Scandinavian aesthetics most evident in the salon were reminiscent of a large living room compared to the overly decorated, glam interiors of the other ships.

The ship was unbearably noisy in the dining room and the large lounge. So much so that a conversation could not be had. And yes the Captain knows this and agrees something needs to done to rectify the problem.
Cabin was great, love the French doors.

Overall the facilities, staff and food are excellent, you really can’t hope for much more. The staff are friendly and work incredibly hard to keep the boat spotless and service the guests.
