Good Trip

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Avalon Tapestry II

We has and outstanding cruise director by the name of Gayle. She went above and beyond to keep everything moving and organized. Other than testing positive for COVID when we got home. Had a good trip. The food was excellent but if I would fix one thing it would be the menu. With 90 percent of the passengers being from the USA they had to much food for breakfast that the Europeans like ...

Great experience - despite a "lock" issue

This was our first river cruise (we've taken many ocean cruises). We (my husband & I) traveled with another couple. We chose Avalon, and this particular itinerary, because we had friends who had sailed with them about a year and a half ago (yes, fall of 2021) and recommended it. I also did my research and chose Avalon because of the various excursion choices that are included in the cost of ...

A Great First Cruise

We had never been to Europe but decided before COVID that our first trip would be a river cruise. We chose Avalon because it seemed to include everything that we wanted in a vacation, including a great choice of excursions, plus additional options. The fact that we could add three days in London was a bonus. Our expectations were exceeded. The entire trip, from arrival in Paris to departure in ...

Had 7-previous AVALON river cruises. They lost my wife's suitcase for FOUR DAYS on their transfer from Paris to Saint Malo. On 2nd day, the tour guide told us they had video of the suitcase being loaded on the bus in Paris and it was probably stolen. On the 3rd day, told us that they think they found it and it should arrive by that evening...It didn't. On the evening of the 4th day, the suitcase ...

Saine and Mont St. Michele

This was our first river cruise after five ocean cruises on Disney ships. We chose the Seine because friends reported a wonderful experience on another line, and we chose Avalon because of the Tapestry II design, the price of the cruise, and the add-on for Mont St. Michele, St. Malo, and Chartres that would significantly check off our "must-sees" for our first trip to France. We flew into Paris ...

Our Dream Cruise - Seven Days on the Seine

Our group of eight senior citizens arrived in Paris on the day before the cruise started. This gave us time to see a bit of the city, enjoy a relaxing dinner near our hotel, and get a little rest before we left on the cruise. We were picked up and taken to the ship, where we had lunch. Our cruise directors arranged for taxi service and we spent the afternoon at the Arc de Triomphe. When we ...

Chose Avalon again because of the classy way they handled the low water situation on the Rhine when we went last year and were sure their professionalism and high quality would not disappoint...and they did not! We love Avalon's staterooms and their well organized shore trips as well as the quality of the staff, food...I guess everything! We traveled with my 80+ year old parents who are still ...

Best Trip Ever

We chose this ship for its itinerary on the Seine. We were truly looking forward to Vernon and Monet's Garden, which was spectacular, but we fell in love with every inch of France we saw!! Avalon knows how to treat passengers like royalty. From the captain to the chamber maids this crew was exceptionally talented at their job and very eager to assist passengers in any way possible. The cruise ...

We chose this cruise based largely on the ports of call offered. We loved the convienance of unpacking just once. The ship is lovely, the staff are very welcoming, and truly work extremely hard to anticipate your every need. We had a room on the Indigo deck. It was small, but not cramped and very nicely appointed. The bed was super comfy, and our chambermaid Natalia was a doll. There are several ...

I have cruised on Avalon before and found them to be a wonderful and relaxing way to travel. I travel as a single. Their staff is very helpful in providing information on things to see and do on your own. You meet other nice travelers from all over the world. You see sites that you would never see unless you got off the beaten bath. Many UNESCO sites that would be missed if you sailed a larger ...
