Our recent Rhine River cruise on the Avalon Expression was our 5th with Avalon. We chose them because of the larger size of their cabins (especially the bathrooms & shower) and the variety & choice of excursions. The staff was friendly and competent, the facilities first class and the food, while not spectacular, was very good and met out expectations. We chose this cruise because it was the only one available with the cabins we wanted when we were looking. The service we received from the staff was excellent! The biggest improvement I would suggest is to improve the quality of the food and drinks. Cold oatmeal, lukewarm white wine, etc.

This was our first river cruise. AVALON was one of three recommended by our travel agent that had openings. We came into this with an open mind. Have done many (10) ocean cruises.
