We are a couple who joined two other couples chose this cruise because it started and ended in Auckland NZ. We have done around 20 cruises including three half world cruises over 30 years from Ponant to Paul Gaugin through Cunard, Sun Line, Carnival, P & O (UK), Princess and Celebrity.
At 3000 passengers it was the largest ship we had been on (our other cruises were all on 2000 or less ...
Firstly let me say this, if you are above 70 you may enjoy this cruise. I must say boarding was a simple quick process even though we were not informed of our boarding time prior so we just arrived around 1 pm and once onboard we were not informed that lunch was available at the buffet so therefore we missed out.
The food is very bland and servings are very small ( nursing home size ). We had ...
Do not take the cruise to NZ starting and ending in Auckland. We just got back (the 2025 date is for next year obviously). We went 2024 February.
Got to the airport and Princess has organized a taxi. This was extremely awkward as the guy told us how poor he was a lot and we felt we needed to give him a tip ( this was our fault).
Embarkation started around 11am and was efficient.
The room ...
Went on this cruise for my late honeymoon with my wife. Service and staff was generally amazing, the team keeping the ship clean and serving the food in the Brittania restaurant were top notch. Afternoon tea was wonderful we went almost every day, and the gala nights were really nice. It's wonderful to still have cruise lines that keep things classy. The food that we got was great and tasted ...
Thought Silversea's was a high end cruise line. Veteran cruiser with many trips on Oceania, Princes, and many other lines. First: disappointing customer service. One of the reasons we selected this cruise was the itinarary, Auckland to Sydney with a stop at Philip Island to see penguins. Somewhere between booking and sailing they changed the itinarary and eliminated Pillip Island. No notice, ...
We were very excited to once again travel on HAL. It had been a few years so were really looking forward to stopping off a several ports in NZ as well as Hobart and Melbourne. Boarding in Auckland was a breeze, everything was well planned and executed by port staff. It was all downhill from there. The weather was on most days terrible but that is what can happen in summer in NZ so we were ...
We chose the Half World cruise as a way to escape winter and to get to the Arab countries where we wanted to tour. Cruising is always pleasant and so my rating is relative to other cruises we've done. Generally the food was ok (what you might expect at Denny's) and the ride not to bad (for us) even when the seas were rough. But nothing was impressive and the entertainment was VERY lame. You can ...
Chose this cruise as it was a food cruise, didn’t realise when we booked that all the chefs dinners were going to be at large extra cost. Hence we didn’t do any as exchange rate Australian dollar to US $ is very poor. Have sailed on this boat prior to Covid and have no memories of anything to complain about. It seems they either can’t get staff or are just trying to save money. Took 20 minutes or ...
I'm not normally someone to complain and I generally try to approach things with empathy but I was so disappointed by this cruise.
First of all, we booked my parents (aged 65-70) an accessibility room which was not at all accessible. The cruise line refused any type of compensation even though one of the staff suggested they fight for it. At 6'5 My father couldn't even fit on the bed and my ...
I always tell people to take reviews with a grain of salt - some people are just complainers ... and some see everything with rose-colored glasses. But when the same complaints come up again and again, do not ignore the warnings. The negative comments regarding this ship - are accurate.
1. Noordam is OLD, tired, and worn out. It deserves a major overhaul. Not only is the furniture, art, ...
