Worst Cruise Ship I have Experienced

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Carnival Splendor

Iam a seasoned cruiser that have cruised around Australia and the world over the past 25 years. This cruise ship is the worst that I have experienced. During the cruise I was aware of the lack of hygiene protocols on board and was constantly washing my hands with soap and water when ever possible and also using the hand sanitizer in the buffet and food area. On the second day after arriving home ...

We booked Great Barrier Reef From Sydney leaving in early May 2023, including a 3 night stay in Sydney with Cruise1st in the UK. It was a great price for the basic cabin and flights and would allow us to see Singapore (as a stopover) Sydney & the Great Barrier Reef. This is the fifth cruise we have been on and our first with Carnival. Carnival Splendor is the second largest ship we have been ...

Fall Break Cruise

My wife and I took a nine day cruise up the Australian coast departing from Sydney. Biggest port of call was Cairns and a couple of smaller places in Queensland. My biggest error was selecting a cruise right dab in the middle of a school semester break resulting in hundreds of kids joining us on the cruise. While the ship officially holds about 3100 folks, a couple of times the announced number ...

We love cruising & trying new cruiselines but this 4 day Easter cruise to Moreton Island has turned me off Carnival Cruiselines. They say they have capacity of 3,012 but kept saying they had over 3,900 onboard - so I reported them & was told they are registered to take 3,948, which they do when filling every bunk and sofa! Problem is the ship is not really made to cater for about 4,000 ...

Eclipse NZ

We took this cruise with our elderly parents to show them NZ. Things we didn’t like: - smorgasbord situation in Ocean View hygiene post Covid questionable - very American centric, catering for US customers as primary concern. -Mainly American wine lists and menu options. Little local wines or cuisines. -hard sell at premium restaurants - constant hovering over our shoulders ...

We recently went on a cruise to New Zealand which included stops in Dunedin (Port Chalmers), Christchurch (Lyttleton), Wellington, Napier and Picton along with a day spent scenic cruising through Milford Sound, Dusky Sound and Doubtful Sound – Fiordland. We had a great time. The cruise involved a total of five sea days, one as previously mentioned was scenic cruising. We were blessed with fine ...

Completed last week a 39 day south Pacific cruise and I am a 3 star mariner. If you like Pasta, pork and chicken this was the cruise for you. There were not enough activities on the sea days. lectures were sparse, entertainment was spotty and port talks were very weak. Popcorn for the daily sea days. in the auditorium. was stale and consisted of about one cupful. The first week if you had ...

Milford sound highlight with great staff, cabin and food

We wanted to do a cruise after years of Covid cancellations and the NZ sounds (they are fjords ) were on the bucket list. Boarding was easy, lots of different steps to go through but staff kept us on track. Leaving from the terminal next to the bridge is a highlight. Staff were fantastic and friendly. We ate mainly in blu restaurant, except for lunch when we usually went to the outdoor area of ...

11 Night Cruise from Sydney to New Zealand South Island

So I enjoyed the cruise, BUT I booked a year previously and checked with Celebrity and was told price included drink package and internet, BUT on boarding no drink package or internet. Apparently over the year Celebrity changed their policy from all prices include drinks to you can pay extra for drinks if you book the cheap seats!!! Thus started out really badly, luckily we were classed as ...

Great Cruise. Confusing Layout and Aging Infrastructure

Don't be frightened by this review. If you have already booked, you will not have a bad time on this cruise ship. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. HOWEVER, if you have not already booked, I suggest you consider another ship. The QM2 is aging and due for a re-ft later this year. There's a lot of rust and stains around deck, in restaurants and our cabin. It clearly shows the wear from all those ...
