Wetherspoons at sea.

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Aurora

Wetherspoons at sea. First cruise with p&o since 2019. Cannot believe the decline in standards. No cabin service in the evening, rationing butter in the restaurants, stained carpets, tatty furnishings, ship was permanently cold (had to wear a coat in the lounges) staff very rushed. Poor information on ports. I did inform guests service of all of the above and to be honest they weren't very ...

It was when Lorena, Sous Chef in the Horizon self-service restaurant, asked me on the first morning what sort of bread I preferred for my breakfast toast that I had an inkling that Aurora was going to deliver something special. The 65-night Grand Tour to the USA and Caribbean certainly did that, starting each day with seeded bread for my toast, baked by Lorena and cheerfully delivered to my table ...

As I said in my title, you get what you pay for. The ship is getting on and looks a little faded in parts. The food is nowhere the level you would otherwise expect on a cruise. But hey, you get what you pay for. What I don't understand is why people who come on having paid a P&O price, expect a Regent Seven Seas service. This is an adult only ship which quite naturally attracts a fair amount of UK ...

Enjoyed the cruise, but food was average.

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Aurora

We like the smaller ships and particularly Aurora. We had wonderful calm seas for 16 days and then a Force 10 storm with high seas and missed Gibraltar as it was closed. We had already had Rhodes cancelled 6 months before the cruise and replaced with Messina, where we have been many times. The food in the main dining room seemed to be always roast this and roast that, along with 3 veggie ...

This was my 4th cruise and the most expensive. I had high hopes for this one. I've done cruises on MSC, Costa and Norwegian. I was really excited to do a classy cruise, dressing up, nice meals, exciting sea days. We even had a mini balcony suite which was gorgeous. The cruise was Italy and Croatia. The weather wasn't the best, so the ships entertainment was very much needed and this is where ...

We chose this cruise because the ports were interesting. Categena,Catania,Cagliari,Trieste,Dubrovnik,Gibraltar. This was better than the usual ports offered in the Med. Ship was excellent,a smaller ship, easy to find your way around, and plenty of nice places to relax on board. Sun decks have plenty of places to sit without it being crowded with sun bathers. We chose freedom dining, and the ...

We love Xmas cruising and have cruised many times with P & O. Disappointing that every time we cruise standards get lower. This time cleaning poor in cabins and around ship. Cabin not vacuumed at all. Drinks selection in bars was poor. They are definitely under staffed in restaurants and bars. Difficult to get a drink. Waiters rushed off their feet although ours were very good. Shops used ...

Disappointing Mediterranean Cruise on the P&O Aurora

We were really looking forward to our cruise because it had been four years since our last cruise but due to a family bereavement and Covid, this was our first since then. The staff were amazing especially the waiters and buffet crew although some passengers thought there was nothing wrong in asking a bar waiter to walk a few hundred yards to get them a coffee from the buffet. Some people ...

Love this part of the world so booked this pre pandemic. Disabled cabin deck 11. Large, light and spacious. Quiet , clean spacious area of ship. Ancient small tv [not seen fot 20 years]. Couldn't see or hear from bed. Sat on edge of bed and i in chair next to it. Hard of hearing and still couldn't read any wording that appeared due to lack of clarity - and this in a disabled cabin! Very ...

Birthday Treat

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Aurora

Mums 75th Birthday treat. Having not cruised with P and O for a few years I was surprised at how standards had slipped disappointingly. The food wasn’t anywhere near as good as it’s been on previous cruises with them. The ship itself is noticeably tatty in places as well. Even the bedding wasn’t up to much, my pillow smelt, there were stains on quilts! The staff however were still great and ...
