Ok, chose this short break as an early Christmas do for my wife and I, the ship needs either a total revamp or scrapping, the archaic plumbing system is not fit for purpose, blocked overflowing toilets in the cabin happened three times in four days, the last day the bathroom was unusable for 8 hours due to failure of the vacuum system for the toilets.
Sewage leaking across the bathroom floor, ...
I chose Aurora because it was a smallish ship and had 3 swimming pools. The crew were friendly and the entertainment very good
The food was OK, but nothing like it used to be. Fewer courses and not as good. Could be due to covid changes or P&O cutting back
I had a balcony cabin on D deck, Very small, Very dark, Nothing like the pictures or description. Some items missing. Would be ok if a ...
I booked a de luxe Cabin and it was Small, dark and nothing like the web site shows. With a metal balcony screen you couldn't see the sea if you sat down !!!!! Or get day light. Ruined my cruise
My cabin was Worse than a standard balcony cabin.
Customer Service on board and at head office we're not interested. Most times have not replied and don't care if you never cruise with them again ...
We have cruised with P&O a few times in the past and they are usually better than some cruise lines for food and destinations. Although this was the most expensive cruise we have ever been on (at over £20k for a group of 4) it was by far the worst in terms of the cruise experience provided by P&O. They have cut back service in many areas (presumably to cut costs) but have completely lost sight ...
We were really looking forward to our cruise because it had been four years since our last cruise but due to a family bereavement and Covid, this was our first since then.
The staff were amazing especially the waiters and buffet crew although some passengers thought there was nothing wrong in asking a bar waiter to walk a few hundred yards to get them a coffee from the buffet. Some people ...
We chose this cruise for the Itinerary. We have done 38 cruises with many different cruise lines but this was our first with P&O. From reading boards before hand I was lead to believe this was a slightly up market cruise, better than celebrity and Princess but more traditional like Cunard. Having been on many of these lines I thought I knew what to expect.
Embarkation was good very smooth ...
We left Cunards Queen Elizabeth to join this cruise for New Year thinking the entertainment would be more fun and Indy it was. The ships entertainment crew are quite brilliant and deserve a huge pat on the back for all the shows but especially for the musical show which got a standing ovation...but alas that's where the good stops.
On arrival to the ship our cabins were not ready and we were ...
Very poor entertainment, had a 10yr old with us that hated kids club (couldn’t blame her) same stuff on every night. The spa on the ship was appalling, still kicking myself for not walking out. Bar closed at midnight, nowhere else except room service to get a drink. Staff entertainment didn’t show up on numerous occasions. Was a complete waste of money, hated every moment of being on the ship. ...
We enjoyed a Christmas Cruise last year with Royal Caribean and anticipated a similar experience - what a disappointment.
Before we even started we found the website very difficult to navigate and actually speaking to someone on the phone even more difficult.
The coach trip to Southampton was well communicated and the coach was large and spacious. The fact that coach parked well away from ...
Having been on Oriana on a 17 day cruise around the canary islands, September 2017, my heart SANK when my wife told me that she'd booked a Xmas market cruise on Aurora. I've never had a good experience on this ship and this cruise was no exception. The Champions bar is an open area one side of the main thoroughfare with the fruit machines banging away on the other side, went there once on first ...
