Deluxe Stateroom with Balcony and Bath/Shower (DA) Cabin Reviews

Very well equipped with lots of storage space. Tired decor with shabby carpet. Bathroom was good with shower over bath. Nice complimentary White Company toiletries. Balcony was a decent size but rather tatty with a lot of rust evident.

We wanted a balcony which was not enclosed by metal, so deck 10 was the only choice. The room, the same as the one we had on Oriana, was well-designed, with wardrobes and a chest of drawers in the bedroom area rather than opposite the bathroom, which meant there was plenty of room round the sides of the bed. We were told on Oriana that no bath robes were provided at this grade, so we took our own, but in fact there were two robes waiting for us. (It was a little off-putting that fresh robes were put out for the next occupants on the day before we left and I wondered whether we should sleep on the floor to allow the bed linen to be changed!) The bathroom had a full-sized bath and the shaver/toothbrush charging point worked when the light was off. There were few power points in the room and none by the bed, but we requested an extension cable, which was provided. The room was reasonably quiet in the windy conditions, but the sliding door let in a draught and also needed to be wedged with paper to stop it rattling in the night. We requested repairs as the handle was also extremely loose, which were done, but the draught was not cured. The TV and the reception were poor, compared with other ships. Otherwise, the room was more than satisfactory. . Read Less

Spacious, well appointed and comfortable. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. Attentive steward (Donald) who kept it scrupulously clean and tidy.

A great cabin. On B deck the balconies are more open (and spacious?) than on other decks. We actually brought with us 5 suitcases, 2 holdalls and 2 ruc-sacs! Silly really but amazingly the room had so much clever use of space that we fit everything in with nothing 'on display' and room to spare. The bathroom was a bit tired but fine with a great amount of storage space. The main room actually was almost two rooms. An archway with thick curtains separated the main bedroom from the sofa area which gave privacy at night for our son who slept very comfortably on the double sofa bed. By day the whole cabin was very airy and the ceiling to floor sliding doors gave great viewing and access to a good sized balcony. The fridge worked fine for keeping wine, water and medication cool. The tv channels were not brilliant; the only time I seriously watched it was as wee sailed by the North African coast and I switched between sunbathing on the balcony and watching Geoff Stelling updating the Saturday football scores! Freddy attended our cabin with great diligence and courtesy. The bed and sofa were very comfortable and the furnishings/decor of the room of a high standard. Most of the time the room was totlally silent and there was no motion whatsoever. The only sound from neighbouring cabins was of drawers opening and closing and there was only slight motion when the wind reached Force 7/8. Excellent access for the rear lifts (without being too close), the tiered stern decks and The Horizon buffet. All in all a brilliant room which catered well for 3 people. Read Less

room was large enough and kept wonderfully clean by our steward. It was a little worn and dated, but clean and tidy at all times. The best part of the cruise for us
