Excellent Way to Experience New Zealand and Australia

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Norwegian Spirit

This is our fifth NCL cruise. We keep coming back because the relaxed experience on the ship and flexible dining suit us. The itinerary from Auckland, New Zealand to Syndey, Australia was what drew us to this cruise. The ship only had 1,600 passengers (double occupancy is 2,050), so the Garden Cafe and Stardust Theater were rarely busy/filled. Note, though it was school holidays here, because ...

I love the Pacific Ocean, the islands and the Pacific People. I like a lot of sea days as shore visits take a toll of my damaged feet. I'm a loyal Princess cruiser and also have been on the Coral Princess before and love the smaller ship with the amazing quirky decor. In terms of the staff - they were all so lovely and friendly. I've added a photo to show that we are not the average couple, ...

We went on a group holiday & boarded this ship in Auckland, New Zealand. Just the right size of ship for me as no sense of direction, so did not take me to long to sort of get my bearings. Great meals, although I think they need a lesson in cooking broccoli. There is al dente & there is al dente (just seen a pan of hot water & not dipped it’s head in it). Our room was 11*** & our friends ...

Good and Bad!

We chose this ship because we had cruised on her out of Barcelona to the Canary Islands and truly enjoyed that experience. This was a totally different story. The make-over of the ship was done very well and they made some wonderful changes. The addition of Onda by Scarpetta was a winner. We went there 4 times. We also went to Cagley's 2 times (one good, one bad) and to the Bistro. We found ...

Our cruise was great til Holyhead Wales. It was a cold and windy day and on way into shore our tender boat stalled and couldn’t restart. We drifted in the waves and hit the shore wall grinding the under carriage of the boat. After multi failed attempts to start the tender and drifting a rescue tender was called. The rope we were attached to our rescue broke and a second was attempted. This time we ...

We chose this cruise for the ports that we wished to visit. But we ended up having to cancel 3 of the ports due to the corona virus. While we understand the chiefs of the various islands deciding against our ship visiting, there was no offer of compensation for even the port taxes. Also we learned of the cancellations much earlier than was announced by the ship's captain. When we went to ...

First time on Oceania. Picked the cruise for the itinerary. We had been to New Zealand and the South Pacific before and wanted to see a few more islands. Unfortunately, coronavirus concerns by the island governments forced the ship to cancel Mare Island, Samoa, American Samoa and Huahine. No new ports were added, just longer stays in Nomnea and Papeete. Spent a couple extra days at sea, but I ...

If the missed ports were the only problems.....

I was worried that Oceania would ruin me for all other cruise lines. Oceania was my first luxury cruise. All previous cruises I had been on were main line cruise companies; Carnival, Celebrity, Norwegian, Princess and Royal Caribbean. Well that worry was fruitless. I would tell people I was going on Oceania some would say “Ohhh Oceania”. I thought when the vacation finally got there I would ...

I selected Oceania because I liked the cruise itinerary. Being this was my first cruise with Oceana I was pleasantly surprised how friendly and helpful the staff was during the entire cruise. The stateroom attendant, Joy, was amazing. Her name fitted her personality because she always greeted me and had a smile on her face. From the staff member scrubbing the decks to the Captain, I found ...
