1-10 of 18 Auckland to the South Pacific Senior Cruises Cruise Reviews
Overall this was a very good cruise. We choose this cruise due to the itinerary and were happy with all ports of call except Suva. (the other side of the island is much nicer). Pago Pago was a pleasant surprise with a good swimming beach just 5 mins walk from the ship. (at Sadie's by the Sea, $5 to use) Kauai was a highlight, with the NaPali coast simply spectacular. Snorkeling with the ...
Very comfortable with lots to do. The meals were particularly outstanding with quality stressed and not quantity. There were so many places to eat that you could choose any time that you liked. There were always plenty of lounge chairs available. The staff were wonderfully trained, always smiling even for the difficult passengers. Many of them picked up your name after just a couple of meetings. I ...
We chose this cruise because embarkation was local and we didn't have to fly somewhere else to experience our first cruise. We traveled as a family (4 of us) with some family friends. (3 of them).
Embarkation was chaos, but with a little patience and abit of understanding, it didn't really take that long to go through the process before finally ending up on the boat.
The boat was in ...
I never sailed the islands of the Pacific, and this was a perfect opportunity to do so. A few days in Sydney prior to sailing allowed two visits to Hunter Valley (two different companies) and a lunch at the top of the Sydney Tower. Staying at the Sydney Harbor Marriott allowed wheeling your luggage right up to the ship with no problem....very handy! Boarding was quick and easy.
Tropical ...
This was our 16th cruise but only our second with HAL. We had a particularly bad trip with them in 2016, but decided to give them a second chance (we also got a great deal on the price!) We had to catch the ship in Auckland so flew out there from Vancouver, spent a couple of days sightseeing before boarding the ship. Embarkation was a breeze since there were only 400 of us boarding the ship for ...
This was my second cruise, and both cruises have been on the Pacific Pearl. The entertainment staff and the cabin stewards were excellent, they really go all out to make sure that your cruise is enjoyable. The shows were great, and there was plenty of entertainment available. I found the food average. You get what you pay for and if you really want something nice then you need to pay the extra ...
As we live in Auckland New Zealand and the cruise left from there we were very excited about taking this cruise. The ship is fairly old (we heard that it is to be taken out of HAL's service in 2018) and it is showing its age. Our room was on one of the higher decks and the juddering when the ship was travelling fast, was quite unpleasant.
Amongst the most talked about issues on board involved ...
best thing we have ever done as a married couple and I highly recommend to anyone who is looking at cruiseing....its the best thing and is priced more so everyday people can do more of it now....do your research well beforehand and book well in advance, worked well for us...
the islands and snorkelling in warm waters far from new Zealand is marvellous, and the shore tours are safe and well ...
It was our honeymoon, a cruise around the pacific islands. First time on a cruise and we were totally impressed with the service of the crew, the entertainment, the dining options available (we tried them all) and the many amenities onboard. As far as entertainment goes, we especially enjoyed the art auctions and the hypnotist show.
They also had magician, comedy shows, dance and singing ...
First time cruisers and we had read lots of negative reviews beforehand, thankfully we had a great time and would definitely cruise with P&O again, our cabin was clean and serviced twice a day, free dining options were great and we also managed to dine at paying restaurants for a small fee and these also fantastic value, entertainment and service were of a high standard, staff generally very ...
