Disappointing

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Noordam

We are New Zealanders and chose this cruise as it left from Auckland and we had cruise credits to utilise. We have travelled on several cruise lines and this was our first Holland America cruise and our last. Embarkation was at 2.40 pm and with the Verifly app was very quick we were on the ship in 15 minutes. A Negative Pre boarding COVID test was a requirement. Our first impressions of ...

A great deal on a two week cruise around NZ came up at a good time so I jumped at it. My first time as solo traveller because my partner couldn't come due to a new job. I had no expectations about NZ's weather as it is not called the land of the long white (and often raining) cloud for nothing. But the weather and the Noordam turned out to be an absolute delight. Spectacular even. The ship is ...

Wonderful cruise Down Under!

We were scheduled to cruise Singapore to Tokyo on the Westerdam, but were concerned with Japan travel restrictions so decided to switch cruises. So glad we did. We had the aft corner Neptune suite, which gives a balcony on two sides of the stateroom. That was ideal for cruising Fjordlands National Park. When the attraction was on the other side of the ship, we went to the back. Unfortunately, ...

Good and Bad!

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Norwegian Spirit

We chose this ship because we had cruised on her out of Barcelona to the Canary Islands and truly enjoyed that experience. This was a totally different story. The make-over of the ship was done very well and they made some wonderful changes. The addition of Onda by Scarpetta was a winner. We went there 4 times. We also went to Cagley's 2 times (one good, one bad) and to the Bistro. We found ...

Good Cruise, Rough Weather

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Noordam

We wanted to visit New Zealand and Australia, but had to rule out self guided road trips due to health and eyesight, so this cruise seemed to fit the bill. The ship is a comfortable size. The food was good and the staff was friendly and helpful. We did not get to visit as much as we had hoped. The great scenery on the West side of the country was not included. We spent 5 days in Sydney ...

A wonderful cruise to some challenging places

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Silver Shadow

We chose this cruise primarily for the itiniary and except for the New Zealand ports (Auckland and Bay of Islands) everything was new to us. There is no doubt that sailing on a luxury ship like Silver Shadow through Melanesia, Micronesia and the Philippines can't get any better and Silversea did an excellent job choreographing the whole process. This was our first Silversea experience as we've ...

Excellent but could do with some improvements

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Azamara Quest

We had a wonderful time on the Quest and enjoyed the size of ship as have traveled on the Oceania identical ships. The choice of food and quality were generally excellent though a few meals were cold on delivery. The dining room staff were also excellent most of the times but a few nights the waiting staff were very slow and mucked up the orders. Overall the staff were amazing and couldn’t ...

Silver Muse modifies itinerary to deal with unseasonable weather conditions and comes out a winner!

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Silver Muse

We have waited over three years for this vacation to New Zealand and Australia. Our expectations were not as high as in the past due to global post pandemic supply chain issues, global personnel shortages, the restart of the Silver Muse only one month earlier. We also had suffered through three cancellations of this trip due to the pandemic and the closing of New Zealand and Australia. While ...

A Holiday away from the “holidays”

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Seabourn Odyssey

User Avatar

6-10 Cruises • Age 70s

We had sailed on Seabourn 10 years ago to the Mediterranean and this time from Auckland to Sydney with stops on the east coast of New Zealand and the south of Australia. We wanted to escape the frenzied holidays at home and found on this cruise a delightful Christmas with caroling and Santa arriving by Zodiac to dancing on the pool deck for a fun New Year’s Eve with everyone from the ship in ...
