Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

Incredible weather.   Between riding buses and a rental car for  six weeks from Cape Reinga to Wanaka in New Zealand, the only rain I had was for about an hour driving between Greymouth and Arthur's Pass.  How lucky is that ?!  I saw Queenstown on a previous visit, and highly recommend it and the bus tour to Milford Sound.   The road into the Sound is great. It has been a few years since I took ...

We were super excited for this cruise and left feeling disappointed as it definitely did not live up to expectations. Yes we missed 2 ports of call due to bad weather but that is nothing Princess can be held responsible for. What they can be held responsible for is how they choose to amend guest entertainment so we actually had something to do during the extra at sea days (7 out of 14). Highlights ...

Friendly Crew but Ship is showing its age

We book based upon itinerary, but have taken four long cruises on Princess. For this cruise we had Club Class D503. Platinum Membership. Pros: a. Crew members were very friendly and helpful. They brought a lot of enjoyment to our cruise. b. The Club Class dinning is very good to excellent, well worth it. c. Many of the excursions we took were well done: bike & wine tour, bike & ...

Australia/NZ have been on our bucket list forever. After much discussion, we decided that a cruise would be the least stressful way to go, if indeed we were going to do it. We have been on several Princess cruises in the past and the idea of unpacking once and being able to sleep in the same bed for two weeks appealed to us. Our past cruises with Princess have been mostly positive and we signed ...

Aukland to Sydney outrunning a storm

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Ruby Princess

The itinerary was exactly what we wanted. Both islands for New Zealand and Hobart Tasmania (our favorite), Melbourne and Sydney for Australia. Unfortunately, a storm and heavy seas caused us to miss Akaora and Fiordlands and gave us a number of days of rough seas and cold days. Not the fault of Princess and the decision of the captain was understandable and appreciated . Safety first. The crew ...

Clean ship, decent food, nice serving staff

We chose this cruise line because of our travel agent and the 8 different ports available. embarkation went smoothly, however the disembarkation was so crazy. there wasn't enough room or order for all passengers to be in the same place at the same time. our cabin was nice, we reserved a balcony room and it was worth it. might upgrade to the next room though if we were to cruise again, the shower ...

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

We were looking forward to the Solstice as not previously been on this ship, but on other Celebrity Ship. Weather was not too kind to us, mostly rain or wind or cold, no laying around on desk this cruise. Ship is good size and has lots of good features, however it seems very sterile with not much colour. From the time you get on, the main thing you notice is the sell, sell, sell of the ...

I had a good time with my friends always enjoyed princess cruises. The food was good with a spread of selections. The DaVinci and Michaelangelo restaurants were great. The ship is clean and beautiful. The staff is always very helpful and attentive to our needs. The cabin we are in the semi suit which is very spacious for the 4 of us. The nice guy assigned to our cabin Mr Reynaldo Curitana kept our ...

Disappointing Celebrity Cruise Auckland to Sydney

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

I want to point out that I have cruised with Celebrity before and have been quite happy but I was unimpressed with this cruise. A 14 night cruise should give you the opportunity to see and visit many interesting locations in New Zealand and Australia but this was not the case with this particular cruise. The cruise started in Auckland NZ which is a vey nice city to explore if you choose to book ...

Poor shows, not true all inclusive, old films

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Azamara Quest

User Avatar

chose for the ports to include NZ and Oz. over 15 nights 5 shows were fairly good, but the 10 others were dire. They use a company called level 54 who are shocking. many nights the audience only numbered about 30 out of 650+ passengers on board which pretty much sums it up. The tv films in the cabin were very old (eg under a tuscan sky) and went on repeat in the 2nd week which is ...
