A second world cruise this one to celebrate retirement and selling my business at 73. Compared to 2011 the list of changes makes for a ho-hum experience. The major is that Princess has gone back on their Loyalty Programme that I joined 15 years ago, The major is that elite was promised free internet and now have to pay. That cost me 1000 dollars additional, Perhaps I would have reluctantly ...
We were super excited for this cruise and left feeling disappointed as it definitely did not live up to expectations. Yes we missed 2 ports of call due to bad weather but that is nothing Princess can be held responsible for. What they can be held responsible for is how they choose to amend guest entertainment so we actually had something to do during the extra at sea days (7 out of 14). Highlights ...
We book based upon itinerary, but have taken four long cruises on Princess. For this cruise we had Club Class D503. Platinum Membership.
Pros:
a. Crew members were very friendly and helpful. They brought a lot of enjoyment to our cruise.
b. The Club Class dinning is very good to excellent, well worth it.
c. Many of the excursions we took were well done: bike & wine tour, bike & ...
Australia/NZ have been on our bucket list forever. After much discussion, we decided that a cruise would be the least stressful way to go, if indeed we were going to do it. We have been on several Princess cruises in the past and the idea of unpacking once and being able to sleep in the same bed for two weeks appealed to us. Our past cruises with Princess have been mostly positive and we signed ...
The itinerary was exactly what we wanted. Both islands for New Zealand and Hobart Tasmania (our favorite), Melbourne and Sydney for Australia. Unfortunately, a storm and heavy seas caused us to miss Akaora and Fiordlands and gave us a number of days of rough seas and cold days. Not the fault of Princess and the decision of the captain was understandable and appreciated . Safety first. The crew ...
We chose this cruise line because of our travel agent and the 8 different ports available. embarkation went smoothly, however the disembarkation was so crazy. there wasn't enough room or order for all passengers to be in the same place at the same time. our cabin was nice, we reserved a balcony room and it was worth it. might upgrade to the next room though if we were to cruise again, the shower ...
I had a good time with my friends always enjoyed princess cruises. The food was good with a spread of selections. The DaVinci and Michaelangelo restaurants were great. The ship is clean and beautiful. The staff is always very helpful and attentive to our needs. The cabin we are in the semi suit which is very spacious for the 4 of us. The nice guy assigned to our cabin Mr Reynaldo Curitana kept our ...
Embarkation was fine and we were on the ship within 45 minutes. Cabin was fine. Staff in all the bars and restaurants were great. The buffet is not big enough for the amount of people on the ship with the usual walking around and around trying to grab a trouble at breakfast and lunch was a pain!!!!!! Especially with so many days at sea people were using the tables to play cards.
First port of ...
My husband, and I planned on this cruise for over 2 yrs. We were so excited to visit a part of the world we did not see before, and like the list of ports we would visit. When we booked this cruise (on board the Regal Princess on a prior cruise), we were given information the Diamond Princess was going to be a newly refurbished ship, with upgrades throughout. What was not told to us was the ...
Cruise overall was good. Not spectacular, but good. This was our fifth cruise with Princess, and we were a bit disappointed with the myriad of “little things” that occurred or didn’t occur on the cruise. Such as, no “happy hour” in any of the bars on the ship. Several of the lifts were “under maintenance” for extended periods. Some public rest room areas were a bit unkept. Cabin TVs not ...
