This was our 2nd time on Diamond Princess and 2nd time with Princess Cruises. We have completed 7 cruises altogether.
Our favourite time on our cruises have been the pre dinner drinks, most often we visit the bars where we feel most welcome and the bartenders have a likable nature and sense of humour, also happy hours help too.
On this cruise there was only one bar that gave us the ...
Embarkation was fine and we were on the ship within 45 minutes. Cabin was fine. Staff in all the bars and restaurants were great. The buffet is not big enough for the amount of people on the ship with the usual walking around and around trying to grab a trouble at breakfast and lunch was a pain!!!!!! Especially with so many days at sea people were using the tables to play cards.
First port of ...
We are Platinum cruisers with Princess and this last cruise on Diamond has cured us---we will no longer book Princess. It was quite evident to us and to many others we talked to on this cruise that Princess has clearly downgraded their offering in pursuit of profit!!
- Embarkation--Little or no attention to platinum/elite cruisers as all passengers in same mob scene dropping off luggage prior ...
We both wanted to cruise the NZ fjords, so chose this cruise . Weather impacted so we missed one NZ port and Melbourne too, so that was disappointing, but they cannot control the weather...
Cabin was nice, clean and roomy. Food was ok - not the best we have had..but not the worst either....seemed slightly aimed at the Amercian market. There were alot of Americans on this cruise. Entertainment ...
My husband, and I planned on this cruise for over 2 yrs. We were so excited to visit a part of the world we did not see before, and like the list of ports we would visit. When we booked this cruise (on board the Regal Princess on a prior cruise), we were given information the Diamond Princess was going to be a newly refurbished ship, with upgrades throughout. What was not told to us was the ...
Cruise overall was good. Not spectacular, but good. This was our fifth cruise with Princess, and we were a bit disappointed with the myriad of “little things” that occurred or didn’t occur on the cruise. Such as, no “happy hour” in any of the bars on the ship. Several of the lifts were “under maintenance” for extended periods. Some public rest room areas were a bit unkept. Cabin TVs not ...
We chose this cruise to do something out of the ordinary for New Year's Eve. Granted, we still ended up spending the countdown in our room, away from the crowds, but it was magical. The ship is so smooth, apart from a little rockiness here and there. The staff are attentive and dedicated to their roles, helpful whenever you needed anything. The entertainment that we got to participate in was ...
Because we have cruised previously.with Princess and found them to be faultless ——except for this cruise..Because of the following, toilet holding tank dumping at sea is this a usual procedure? Strong toilet stench coming from vents espcially on the STBD side at deck 7 level. No Happy hour on this cruise.previous cruise have had these. Blue smoke coming from funnels especially in ...
We wanted to experience a New Years eve doing something different and out of the ordinary. The Daimond Princess was the only ship departing Auckland on the 31st December.
Been first time cruisers we thoroughly enjoyed our cruising experience, we found all the staff friendly and helpful.
Yes it was NZ and Australia school holidays but found the children didn't worry us at all. The ship was ...
To experience being on a cruise ship..We found the service to be excellent..the cabin steward and the restaurant staff were amazing..
The cabin was a bit small for four people..but adequate..
The on board spa treatments were too expensive, but the staff were friendly.
The productions of dancers and singers was excellent.
The food was amazing.. just needed a few no dairy options maybe ...
