3rd Cruise on Marina, South Pacific

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Marina

The ship is in excellent shape now that it has aged a bit. The cabins seem smaller than the 242 sq. feet advertised. Oceania is now being cheap with soap and shampoo--not exactly what you expect from a luxury cruise. Other than that, the cabin steward was efficient. Since this is the 3rd time on the Marina for us, there were no surprises until the last day. The food and service in the ...

Auckland to Papeete on Oceania Marina

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Marina

I haven't published a review in some time, as many of the major cruise lines have thousands of reviews already and what can I add? But Oceania doesn't currently have that many reviews up, and certainly not many of this particular cruise leg on Marina. This was our first cruise with Oceania. We were traveling with my spouses parents, who have been on 50 or so cruises, mostly on the majors. They ...

First Time Cruising with Azamara

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Azamara Quest

My husband and I just returned from 13 day itinerary New Zealand and Sydney, Australia. We loved the more intimate smaller cruise, enjoying the ship, getting on and off, longer port days all pluses with less passengers. The staff were all very accommodating, and kept all public areas and our room extremely clean. The specialty restaurants had more interesting choices, and executed miles ...

Pleasantly surprised

This was our first ever cruise having been well seasoned land travellers and also having visited New Zealand some years back this was a good place to start. it was also pointed out by fellow passengers that we had chosen well for our first cruise. We agree! Embarkation procedures in Auckland went smoothly, just the usual form filling. Once on board we went up to Windows cafe for some lunch ...

Wonderful, but with a Few Misses

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Seabourn Odyssey

Seabourn uses all manner of glorious adjectives to describe their cruises, and on our recent 17-day trip from Auckland to Sydney aboard Odyssey, they came close to their advertising. The ship, which resembles a yacht, is beautiful from the outside. Inside, it's attractive, easy to get round in, and well-organized. The main dining rooms, with low ceilings, are not as well decorated as one might ...

Retirement Cruise

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Marina

We booked this cruise almost a year in advance to celebrate our both being retired and now able to travel The cruise itself was, for the most part, wonderful. However, the travel service left us down. The ship and cabin were beautiful. The cabin did need some maintenance such as the grout coming loose in the bathroom. All staff that we came into contact were exceptional, and they are a ...

Pleasant, though not perfect, cruise on the Silver Spirit

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Silver Spirit

My husband and I picked up the Auckland-Melbourne leg of this cruise February 12. Overall, we enjoyed the cruise, though there was room for improvement as noted below. The beautiful scenery of New Zealand and smooth flow of the cruise fortunately made up for the mild to moderate service flaws we experienced on this ultraluxury small ship which competes with Regent and Seabourn. PRE-CRUISE: We ...

Marina Auckland to Papeete 2/28/15

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Marina

First let me say we are in our 50's, I think this is important because a review from someone my age may be very different from someone in their 70's. We are also from the US. We allowed Oceania to make our flight reservations so we flew from San Francisco to Auckland (main flight) and the captain had us in Auckland 1 hour earlier than expected. We were on Air New Zealand and I don't have any ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

Embark: This was definitely not handled at all well, by any cruise ship standard. Apparently they had some custom problems, or so they said. Best to just show up late, as with most lines. Ship/Stateroom: Beautiful, spacious ship with excellent appointments. Staterooms are all suite/balcony with the stand rooms being fairly standard in finish and size to most lines. The Penthouse suites are quite ...
