Completed last week a 39 day south Pacific cruise and I am a 3 star mariner.
If you like Pasta, pork and chicken this was the cruise for you.
There were not enough activities on the sea days. lectures were sparse, entertainment was spotty and port talks were very weak. Popcorn for the daily sea days. in the auditorium. was stale and consisted of about one cupful.

I booked the cruise with Holland America directly. I asked for 2 full view balcony room next to each other. The sale girl gave me room 7001 and 7003. I paid the price for the full view balcony room. This cruise was on our bucket list and we have been looking forward to it for a long time. We got on the cruise ship with no problems. When we went up to the Lido deck the windows had not been cleaned from previous cruise. This was a 2 week cruise and they never cleaned them. Chose this cruise purely to sail through the Fjords of New Zeland and set up 1TB of memory on a brand new phone at huge expense to record it all..
We took a new $400 massager for pre existing ailments which got confiscated at embarkment.

First ever cruise with princess line, all I can say is that we were very disappointed from start to finish.
The list is to long for me to write about, it started from getting on the boat until we disembarked.

This is not a luxury five star ship whatever the travel agents claim, not now. It was back in 2008 when it was launched, but its been worked hard since then. Its evident when you embark through its nice white hull and enter its interior that its tired and overdue for a refit. The cost of sailing with Celebrity could not lead to expectations of Four Seasons quality accommodation, service, and food. We boarded the ship in Auckland which was completely hassle free.
We were on the 8th deck cabin size was fine. The balcony was very small and the 2 seater sofa in the cabin somewhat tired looking. The lower deck seemed to have a larger balconies.
