Luxury on the Millenium - Think Not

Review for Celebrity Millennium to Hawaii

Overall:This was our 16th cruise on a major Cruise Line.  First for the good stuff:   The Ports of Call were excellent. The not so good:  During the second leg of our Sydney to Honolulu cruise we were forced to change cabins and loose half our day in Auckland. We actually believe the staff in Sydney that we would have one statement for the entire cruise to Honolulu.  The ship Millennium is ...

Concierge class is not worth the extra

Personal Background Information - This was our first and possibly last cruise with Celebrity. We are not avid cruisers but have cruised with other lines before. Embarkation - embarkation went smoothly as we were in Concierge class although there was no line up at the other desks either. The instructions said not to embark before 3 pm but a lot of people were there by 12 noon. How they would have ...

Celebrity Millenium

We booked a 15 day cruise on the Celebrity Millenium going from Auckland, New Zealand to Sydney Australia.  We do not recommend any one waste their money on this ship.  The ship is old, run down, and the staff does not care about their customers.  The furniture and carpet was threadbare.  You couldn't take any pictures out the windows because they were to dirty.  They didn't clean them the entire ...

Embarkation - Great, no lines and we got upgraded to a suite from a concierge class cabin Ship - The Millennium is in need of maintenance. This can be a beautiful ship and will be once again after the renovations are complete. We were told the ship will be dry docked for two weeks before the Alaska cruise season and its a good thing. While not a disaster, the ship was not in the condition we all ...

Travelling on the 'beautiful Millennium'

BACKGROUND INFO: I'm a single traveller based in Auckland who loves to cruise. I was in need of a last minute holiday and the deal here was just too good to pass by. I've travelled a lot round NZ and have been to Australia many times so I wasn't too attracted by the ports of call - rather I was looking to have a relaxing holiday and enjoy the onboard experience. EMBARKATION: This was extremely ...

Celebrity did not live up to expectations...

Celebrity Cruiseline, and more specifically the Millennium are undoubtedly the worst cruise we have EVER taken. The entertainment, cuisine, staff (especially shore excursion staff), and cleanliness on the ship were below average at best, and I feel this is being quite conservative. Here are the issues we faced: Cuisine: The food in the dining room was on most nights average, nothing like the ...

Embarkation - We arrived at the dock to drop off our baggage around 12:30pm before returning our hire car. The ship sailed at 6 pm & there were already nearly 1000 people at the dock. We came back at around 2pm & the queue had pretty much gone & it took only about 20 mins to embark. The room was ready. We had a queen bed & a sofa bed for our daughter. The room was nice & the bathroom was clean & ...

Starring bad food and a deteriorating ship!

We'd looked forward to our honeymoon with much anticipation. It was our first trip to New Zealand and Australia, and we couldn't wait to get on board and start sailing. Unfortunately, from the minute we boarded, we experienced difficulties on the Millennium. We later found out that the ship was scheduled for dry dock in April, which explained the numerous external signs of disrepair. Windows, ...

This was the first time I sailed on celebrity, and it will probably be my last. I booked with them for what I thought was a great deal for an AU/NZ cruise. I usually cruise on Carnival, and I have to say I've experienced much better with them before. I plan to stay away from all RCI related cruise lines. The entertainment also sucked. The comedy shows had few laughs, and there were only 1 or 2 ...

Our Trip started from O'Hare airport in Chicago, on the 15th of Jan., when the Temperature was a "bracing" -16oF. We were SOO happy to be heading to warmer climes We flew Cruise Air, as we got a very good deal on airfare, $1,200.pp. We were afraid at that price, Celebrity would have us on poor flights. Nothing could be further than the truth, 1 stop in San Francisco , and then direct to Auckland ...
