I feel compelled to write a review since nobody has reviewed since Viking changed it's policy on allowing passengers to be free in port. We found out on our 10 October departure from Athens to Venice that we were only the 2nd cruise to be allowed free reign in port. We were thrilled. Starting pre-cruise in Crete we shopped alot knowing it was possible we wouldn't be allowed off the ship. But we ...

We chose Viking Ocean because we had a wonderful experience on their Rhine River cruise. We chose this cruise because it met both my and my wife's "want to see" list. As always, the Viking service was wonderful, from airport to ship, from room to dining, from excursions to free time. It all was wonderfully provided by Viking. The small size of the ship and guest total was another reason we ...

We went with a couple that are celebrating there 50 years of marriage..We are so glad we went, it was so good we sign up in 2019 for Australia. Now we are looking at all the river cursies.. The food was fantastic, my favorite was the morning waffles, 3 minutes and it is done..The entertainment was amazing, they should have there own tv series.. The cursie director was the hardest working person on ...

We took a Viking River cruise and loved it so knew what to expect and we weren't disappointed. The staff was unbelievably efficient and friendly. The food was exquisite in all the restaurants. The service was impeccable. The variety was mind boggling. The excursions were wonderful and educational. The entertainment on board was exceptional. The value for what we got was truly remarkable. We preferred the Viking river cruises but decided to try this one because it included Dobovnic, my husband's roots. It felt like we were on the river boat and included all the amenities we have come to expect. The ship was beautiful and never felt crowded like other cruise companies. The service was perfect and the young lady who cared for us and our stateroom treated us like family, paying ...

We always wanted to see the Greek Islands and Venice Italy and this cruise allowed us to check off these destinations. Athens was great, but we fell in love with both Santirini and Corfu. Montinagro was fabulous. The old city with the high mountains surrounding it. Croata was fascinating. The highlight of the trip, however, was Venice. Seeing canals and boats instead of cars was incredible. St. ...

My husband and I had first sailed with Viking on the Grand European river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam in June 2015. We were so impressed with the ship and the staff that we decided to book the Empires of the Mediterranean ocean cruise on the Viking Sea for March 2016. We had previously cruised with Carnival and Princess and smaller cruises in Maine and in China. All I can say is WOW!!! ...

We chose this cruise for the itinerary; we chose Viking because we love Viking. I would recommend upgrading to shore excursions that are not the included ones. The included ones are mostly walking tours of the towns with a museum or church visit. There is usually time to walk the old towns before or after. We had a fabulous visit to a family olive farm in Montenegro; in Santorini we toured an ...

We had tried different cruise lines and had done a Viking river cruise, so we decided to give the ocean cruise a try. The 4 of us truly enjoyed the trip to the max. Our rooms were awesome especially the spacious bathrooms w/heated floors. Service and food were great. It's a beautiful ship. It was our first time on the cruise ships of Viking and we have already booked another, because it was ...

I absolutely loved the smaller ship experience. We never had to wait in lines whether going off shore or to dinner. The staff provided the best customer service I have ever encountered. We walked right on and off ship at ports. We never waited in line to go anywhere. The ship is beautiful and clean. The rooms are superb. The bathrooms have heated floors so your feet are always warm. The ...
