Enjoying a beautiful morning on the Viking Sea.
View of the sunset from our seats in the Explorers Lounge. We enjoyed nightly cocktails here before dinner.
Taken from our veranda, arriving in Montenegro just before dawn.

Wonderful trip with a little trouble in paradise
"Several people were in contact with the ship and with Viking since we had to leave Venice without his bag on our way to Verona and Lake Como.I am completely disappointed in the lack of follow-through from Viking to take responsibility for 1) losing the bag, 2) communicating with us until we have it in our hands, and 3) not taking responsibility for the incident...."Read More

This is my second cruise with Viking. My first was a river cruise, this was an ocean cruise. I like each for it's own reasons. Giving this a 4/5 because while everything was very nice, I felt the excursions to be a little boring and monotonous. The tour guides were mostly good and interesting, but every tour was similar, and you had to pay serious upgrade fees to get something ...

We have sailed Vikining before on a river cruise to the Bordeaux region, six years ago. We've wanted to be able to travel on their cruise ships ever since. It took some time to be able to save up enough money to take the trip. It was everything and more in terms of the quality of the ship, staff, and services. The excursions were also amazing. I'd recommend this trip to everyone. One issue, ...

Great overview of history and accomplishments in this part of Mediterranean Sea.

We chose this cruise because the itinerary was 100% Greek history and archaeology at locations not focused on beaches. Also wanted to try the Viking Ocean cruises, as we have been very satisfied with the Viking River cruises. Both objectives were delivered way above expectations. The Viking experience was as good as expected with the added benefit of a smaller ship. The dining and entertainment ...

Greece has been on our bucket list for a long time, and although our original sailing date was "adjusted" by the pandemic, we were happy to wait. The wait was certainly worth it. We are Viking junk)ies. This is was our sixth cruise. Four rivers and two oceans. They never get old. As committed river cruisers we booked our first ocean cruise (Iconic Western Med) a few years ago with some fear and ...

I chose Viking because of my good experience with the Viking Star. However, the overall service, dining, and entertainment are a step behind her sister ship. Don't get me wrong, Viking ship and cabin are very high in quality. This time , the ports and shore excursions are well executed. It seems to me that Viking is expanding too fast. Food quality is subpar for a luxury ship, although it ...

The ship had plenty of areas where one felt private, comfortable and quiet. The seating was well arranged and the areas were always clean. There were also plenty of books etc for browsing. The cabin was always well attended to. It was nicely designed with the light wood and colors. The dining overall was good. There were plenty of choices for all the three meals. The special dining however ...

2 of us recently took the Empires of the Mediterranean Cruise and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had one day in Athens before sailing and took a tour both in the morning and afternoon. The airport meeting and embarkation process was smooth and went off without a hitch. The Viking Sea is gorgeous. Our stateroom was on the 4th deck and was expansive enough that it didn't feel claustrophobic. We'd ...

Beautiful Ship, Food Not So Much

One of the most beautiful ships we've been on. Everything brand new, very Scandinavian lots of blonde wood. Our cabin was good sized and well appointed. Would have liked double sinks, however. Food was hit or miss. Viking has no restaurant option at lunch, so its either the buffet or the pool grill, which is also self-service. Not what a company aspiring to be a top cruise line should offer. ...

Husband and I had never been to Athens, so when friends invited us to join them - we signed up. We arrived three days before departure to explore this remarkable city, could have spent more time. The Sea was introduced this year and all of the public rooms were spotless. The food service was very good. Enjoyed the Living Room tables with the various games. The Spa is wonderful - saunas in the ...

We wanted to see the ports on the Adriactic. We received a fabulous upgrade. Our room was spacious with abundant storage space. The food was excellent. The wait staff and all the other staff were helpful and so friendly. We ate 3 times in the Chef's Table, our favorite. We didn't like the Italian one as much. Thank you Angel for all the special attention. Our cabin steward, Gracias was excellent. ...
