We chose this cruise in 2019 for my husband's 70th birthday in 2020. The Holy Lands was a Bucket List destination. However, with COVD in 2020 and 2021 we pushed our cruise to November 2022. Then a death in the family forced us to push the cruise to 2023. Little did we know a war in Israel would start only days before our sailing and would prevent us from visiting the Holy Lands. It was now too ...
Viking shipboard service was impeccable.
The included excursions did not always match their descriptions, especially the driving excursions.
Some of the excursion guides seemed to lack training and enthusiasm which made the excursion below expectations.
Viking food was okay, nothing special
Twice menu items preselected for medical diet were unavailable because the wrong menu was ...
We chose this cruise because we've done 2 river cruises before and we enjoyed the Viking experience. Food on this cruise was fantastic. The ship was beautiful and well-kept. The evening entertainers at the theatre were excellent. Our cabin was exactly what we needed. The excursions were great. The scenery was beautiful. Now, I'll provide suggestions to make the trip better. For ...
We made a poor decision to travel to Europe in the summer, partly because our preferred cruise to Buenos Aires was delayed by Covid for 3 years and we mistakenly believed Viking wouldn't refund our original payment. For that I can never forgive Viking. The cruise was basically fine and uneventful but seriously marred by extreme heat. Our first stop in Katakolon was a disaster - Viking should have ...
This is LOOOONG! Really long. In fact it may be overkill.
Ancient Mediterranean Treasures – Viking Sky

As always, service on Viking is top notch - great food, pleasant entertainment and extremely courteous/efficient staff. The Italian specialty restaurant is phenomenal! The Chef's Table menu was mediocre, though the wine pairings were fun. Having a different port every day maximizes exploration opportunities. I like that Viking offers an included tour in every port . . . most of the tours we ...
Ship was beautiful, staff amazing. Food was great. From the time our plane landed Viking staff was ready for us. I have never been on a cleaner or friendlier ship. There was always someone there to help you with what ever you need. The bar tenders worked all the bars so it really was a place where everyone knew your name. That was a great special touch.
A few draw backs it seemed all bars ...
We took our first Viking Ocean cruise last year, and enjoyed it very much! We decided to book another ocean cruise this year, and since we've already seen the Western Mediterranean, we wanted to focus on part of the eastern half this time. We chose the cruise from Athens to Venice, and extended our time in Venice by two nights at the end of the cruise. As always, the food and service on-board ...
We chose the cruise because it went to Thessaloniki and Crete. Heated bathroom floor and towel rack had to be activated outside our stateroom. That's bad in summer. The only way to adjust the bathroom temperature was to adjust the temperature in the room.
Most of the food was good. In the World Cafe, signs did not always match the food. Most serious was putting soft-boiled eggs under the ...
This trip was on my birthday bucket list and I have looked forward to this trip for many years! The ship is beautiful, restaurants excellent, food variety excellent, Chef Ivan's cooking class was fun, entertaining, and a good learning experience and staff was exceptionally responsive and always upbeat.
Overall a great time with two exceptions: (1) our trip to Volos, Greece was disappointing ...
