My wife and I chose this cruise to finish a self managed holiday as we were in Europe and wanted to travel through the Suez Canal to Dubai and this cruise had the stops we wanted included three days in Egypt.
My wife and I cruised the Silver Spirit from Athens to Dubai in late October through to mid-November 2023 and now have had time to reflect on the experience from booking through to ...
Silversea has always been seen as the pinnacle of cruising. As it's branded as "ultra-luxury" we've waited a long time to be able to sail and with great anticipation. We found this amazing 7 night Greek Isles & Turkey itinerary and had to book it right away. We did our research, read reviews, joined even joined the informal group on Facebook to read about what to expect. It all sounded so amazing: ...
This was our first time with Silversea, and we booked late. This wouldn’t have been too much of a problem, but a day later SS was hit by the website system outage, and so we went into our holiday without a lot of key information. In fact, we went to the airport without anything except our online boarding pass for the flight! However, at the other end we were met as hoped for and the included ...
This cruise was chosen for a combination of itinerary and lifestyle. We wanted to sail Silversea again, and this itinerary ticked all the boxes.
Here is a small review of that cruise, 3930 Piraeus round trip.
Several factors are worthy of mention .... some good and some bad.
BOARDING PROCEDURES
Nothing but complements. Less than 15 minutes from exiting the taxi to relaxing in the ...
It should be the first cruise and should be a great experience. On closer inspection, the ship was outmoded, worn and not up to date. Data transfer to iphone or laptop a sheer catastrophe. The bed width (we had twinbeds) only 80 cm - with a little swell you threatened to fall out. There should be a butler individually available to each cruise guest (which was mathematically completely impossible) ...
The ship is new and is beautiful! But we have been on many other ocean and river cruises and, aside from the ship, the price point is not justified.
We did not see our butler until we called him to the room and hardly saw him after that. While some meals were outstanding, in general the cuisine was not any better than what we have experienced on Uniworld and Tauck river cruises at far lower ...
Chose cruise for itinerary. Usually sail with Crystal and I missed them! This ship pretty but staterooms' soundproofing lacking because TVs were in wall. Could hear neighbors' TV right through the wall, Food was not memorable and passengers had no open seating option. Had to reserve every night--earliest was a 7 p.m. reservation. One show each night at 9:45 or 10 p.m. --not good for those ...
We've cruised with Silversea for more than 19 years because we loved its style, intimate atmosphere an excellent food and service. Of course some things needed technological adjustments and renovation in suite confort and decoration.
Now Silver Muse suits offer world class amenities and decoration. Dining options are more varied. But apparently minor changes, such as the dress code, or the ...
We are 12 times cruisers, 3 with silversea. We were looking forward to being on a new ship as the last Silversea ship had some problems with leaks into our suite, it was due for refurb. The new dining arrangements on Silver Muse didn't suit us and from speaking with other guests onboard they all agreed. The fact that there was no dining room where you could walk up and ask to be sat at a table of ...
