The Norweigian Epic: MOST uncomfortable and oddly configured balcony cabin ever.

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Epic

The wonderful crew, fun excursions and for the most part good food could not make up for the most uncomfortable cabin I have ever experienced. I had been on this ship before but in an ADA cabin for someone with a motorized wheelchair. On this cruise I was in a regular balcony cabin. We had not gotten an ADA cabin but told Norwegian that we needed to be near the elevator because my cabin ...

This was our first cruise, an 11 night Eastern Mediterranean itinerary, & we booked it for a great price without knowing too much about the industry at first. Reading other reviews of the Epic on this site we were slightly worried, but we needn't have been - the ship is fantastic, & we couldn't have asked for better. Looking at the detail of others' criticisms it seems many of the issues being ...

Pros: Loved the ports - beware though tendering at Zakynthos; unless you had a ship tour booked you could wait 3 hours plus to get off (we gave up) But the ships tours WERE very good and would recommend. I had the “key” package and loved the little perks (great WiFi!) Food - excellent food in MDR and service (buffet not so good - food often tepid and dining area itself is dismal ...

Flew to Athens, Greece. Spent 3 nights sight seeing. Boarded the ship. Embarkment was easy and quick. Had a great lunch in the Windjammer buffet. Food choices were plentiful and delicious. Cabins were ready at 1pm. Luggage arrived between 2-4pm. We were in an outside cabin with a large window. Cabin was very comfortable and steward ( Henrik) was friendly and efficient. Main dining room ...

Repositioning cruise - sailed the Med

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Star Flyer

I loved the idea of real sailing and always wanted to see the smaller ports in the Med, so when I saw that on reposition one could travel the entire width of the Med (Turkey to Caneries), I signed up for the whole 35 days. Even with the single supplement, the price was quite reasonable; the accommodations, food and service excellent. Sailing into the small ports was as nostalgic and ...

My wife and I have always loved the "small ship" experience, and have no need to be entertained, so this was a perfect fit for us. BUT, if you need nightly entertainment, want to dine alone at a table, don't like international crowds, (I would say 60% of the passangers NOT from the USA) or are prone to seasickness, this is NOT the cruise for you. If you remember that this is first and formost ...

We returned yesterday from this cruise on which we experienced both positive and negative issues. Positives - amazing crew, always smiling and helpful, and working so hard. Given demands and capacity, service and the food was great - varied and fresh in Garden Café, main dining rooms and especially good in Le Bistro. Cabin was kept very clean and shower room bigger than on some competing ...

The ship was great, the passengers were not!

A group of six of us traveled to Athens for a 7 day cruise to Israel, Cyprus, Turkey other ports in Greece, and found the Norwegian Jade to be in terrific shape. It clearly showed that great care had been taken in retrofitting in 2022, and it was a nice change from other ships we have been on in years past. Four passengers in our group stayed in one of the penthouse suites, and I cannot ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Star Flyer

Although I'm a veteran cruiser (more than 19 cruises at this point), this was my first experience on a Star Clippers ship. Sailing on this type of a ship offers a unique cruise experience, and in my opinion has the following pros and cons: PROS: • The Star Flyer has a passenger capacity of 170 max, but we had 155 on our sailing with all rooms occupied but one. This low passenger count ...

Sadly, it is the last day of our cruise. I am happily sitting in the Constellation at deck 11 forward tip of the ship lounge with a cup of coffee, enjoying the view of Hydra. I love this lounge. It is huge, 3/4s around floor to seating windows, air conditioned and quiet most of day time. First, I will comment on a couple of board type topics. We had chocolates on our pillows, our room was ...
