"Ship was new, clean, lots of amenities, nice staff, little ship movement (even sailing in lots of wind) and generally a wonderful floating hotel from great port to great port.I wished I had masking tape - or even one of those rubber "thimbles" for collating papers - to cover up the little motion sensor button on the light fixture...."Read More

1-10 of 11 Princess Regal Princess Cruise Reviews for Gourmet Food to Europe from Athens (Piraeus)
This cruise was chosen by friends and was my first experience with Princess. I suspect it will be my last. I was interested to cruise on Princess after bumping into a couple who had never cruised with any lines and loved the company. I can’t say I share their enthusiasm.
I found the veranda stateroom cramped. We have always booked verandas no matter which company we cruise with, so I can ...
7 nights from Athens to Barcelona.
Boarding in Athens - hot! Now yes - it’s Greece in the middle of summer - however the terminal is a huge marquee. There were air con units but they were not really making much difference. If we had been able to board at our allocated time then we would not have been there long, but everyone seemed to think they can just turn up when they want and Princess ...
We sailed in an obstructed balcony and being experienced cruisers this was a first and it’ll be my cabin of choice in future, so long as not seasonally a time of inclement weather conditions. This is due to the cabin facing forward and therefore whilst ‘at sea’ it could be an issue, not during our June cruise though and the balcony space was huge. Cabin was comfy, bed a little bit firm and very ...
We did R/T Barcelona for 3 weeks or 3 cycles. This ship had people boarding at Barcelona, Rome, Athens (and some at Crete). The cruise had wonderful ports (maybe too many!) and we had a beautiful Eastern and Western Mediterranean trip. Ship was new, clean, lots of amenities, nice staff, little ship movement (even sailing in lots of wind) and generally a wonderful floating hotel from great port to ...
We went on a 2 week cruise of the Mediterranean and should have booked for 3 weeks to complete the cruise. The staff was courteous and efficient to a degree. The Sanctuary was fully booked and was difficult to get a space even though there were obvious openings (empty cabanas and lounge chairs) I think because the area was understaffed. We had booked Club Class and the dedicated anytime dining ...
The destinations were what inspired us to take this cruise. Entertainment was excellent. The Princess musical group was top rate and thoroughly enjoyed. Excite and others were terrific. Magician was not of the same caliber as the other entertainers. The DJ made the volume unbearable and played the same play list repeatedly. I think he controlled the
volume of the movies during the day. Again the ...
We choose this cruise mainly for the itinerary. It was bucket list locations that my husband wanted to see and it was my first trip to Europe. Getting to see the beauty and history of Greece, seeing MT Etna and the sites of Pompei. The wonder of Kotor and Naples. And the under city in Naples was a wonderful way to not only hear about ancient history, but history from WW II, the 50’s and ...
I'm only giving this 3 stars because it was excellent value for money (ie cheap) but almost everything about Princess and the ship, in general, was a bit of a disaster. I was glad there was room for 1000 more guests as that kept the ship bearable. I would like to see this ship full! Despite not having a full ship the service was terrible, with a lack of trained staff in way too many areas. ...
As a mature couple we found that this ship felt like it was crowded. We have only been on 1 other cruise and that was on the Carnival Legend and found that the Royal Princess was lacking in almost every detail compared to the Legend except for the decor.
On the Royal you are constantly waiting for elevators and you had to queue for almost anything onboard. We had a mini suite and this was only ...
My itinerary started in Athens (Piraeus) on 27 MAY and ended in Venice on JUNE,2 . It is always very exciting to cruise on a brand new ship and I couldn’t wait to get on board. Unfortunately I had some troubles with embarkation procedure but I’ll skip the details. It was quite unpleasant 3-hour waiting at Piraeus cruise terminal because of someone’s fault but ship’s staff together with my ...
