Not as good as before

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Marina

Oceania is known for finest cuisine at sea but it seemed its quality has gone a bit downhill. The dish presentation is very dull and seemed many people can do a better job at home. In general service is good but could be better as it named itself as luxury cruise line. Entertainment is limited as the ship itself is not big. Sometimes you find not much to do on the ship. Luckily there is music ...

Great Itinerary/Uneven Ship Service

The cruise had a fabulous itinerary and we chose it for that. We were not disappointed. The cruise was amazing and the ports were phenomenal. Everything was interesting and easily explored. Sometimes we had to travel a distance from port to the points of interest but that is often to be expected with a cruise. We could not have been more pleased with the choice of ports. We arranged for ...

Details on some deficiencies in an otherwise excellent cruise

Review for a Trans-Ocean Cruise on Nautica

The cruise was generally excellent mainly because of the the variety of food, the service, the gym and running track, and the itinerary. I will not go into detail on those factors because you can read about them in numerous other reviews. Instead, I will discuss a few deficiencies aboard Nautica and suggest some ways to overcome them so that they will not interfere with your enjoyment of the ...

Oceania is a Distinct Cruise Experience that is Not for Everyone - But is for Me

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Marina

My wife and I are experienced cruisers (over 40 cruises) and Oceania in particular (over 15 cruises). I will start out by saying we love Oceania and have 4 more cruises on them currently booked. I will not comment on my last cruise since the ports are well covered elsewhere. Rather I will comment on Oceania in general. I am always confused by people who are not happy with an Oceania cruise ...

Amazing Vista Suite, but...

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Nautica

We are active, mature, independent experienced travelers who've been on 10 cruises or so. We had booked Oceania's Lima-Miami cruise, which they must have oversold because they kept sending emails inviting us to voluntarily switch to other cruises. We eventually swapped for this and were awarded an amazing Vista Suite at the front of the boat. That set a fabulous, luxurious tone for this, our ...

Oceania always provide good services, food and entertainment. The only disappointments were the cancellation of Istanbul and Cairo within the lists of Port of Call. Those cities were the reasons for the initial booking of this cruise. Some travelers mentioned receiving shipboard credit after complaining to Oceania (which would need confirmation). If that was true and correct, Oceania should ...

Great itinerary - Oceania goes where most others don't Small ship experience, personally it did not matter to me either way. I like them both! Great service and amenities Veranda cabin 6000 right in the front. Great view every morning but the racket at 6AM when the ship dropped anchor would wake the dead! Also beware of rough waters in this cabin if you are prone to sea sickness. ...

1. To start at the beginning: I have cruised many times with small and large vessels I have never had trouble stepping in to a bathroom. The first thing I noticed was a bathroom raised up far more than any other I recall making entry with a knee replacement ver very uncomfortable 2. I use a very small and portable rollator (Spry). The Maitre D of the dining room made certain I knew that the ...

Four continents in four weeks aboard the Oceania Marina

We just returned from a 26-day cruise on the Oceania Marina (back-to-back Athens to Civitavecchia and Civitavecchia to Miami). We've sailed on more than two dozen ships, but it was our first on Oceania. When we boarded the Marina, we were immediately impressed with the luxurious appearance of the ship and of our cabin (Concierge-level veranda). The bed was the most comfortable we've ever had on ...

Great destinations but retire the ship

In a nutshell: perfect itinerary, outstanding service, and excellent food, but the ship is old & cramped. The entertainment & activities were way below par. With a starting port of Athens and and ending port of Istanbul, the itinerary was fabulous for extending our vacation. We learned that many others on the cruise did exactly the same thing. The embarkation process could not have gone ...
