Gave 4 stars, because 5 is almost impossible.
I don't understand some of the negative reviews. Oceania has been a great choice, especially for the price when compared with other cruise line offerings. Some people must expect everything to be absolutely perfect, which is really not possible. Complaints about the size of the bathroom? You should have checked the pictures and floor plan before ...
Chose this ship because it was brand new and the ship itself did not disappoint. The furnishings are elegant and modern. While some of the art work was a little too modern for my taste, most of the art fit the decor. The ship was also well-designed. Embarkation was slower than we expected--we were not able to board at the time we were given and had to wait.
Our cabin was concierge level ...
My friend and I chose this cruise firstly for the itinerary and secondly for the ‘luxury’. We were both experiencing bereavement, our husbands dying in 2020. We saw the Vista cruise advertised on line and decided it would be a good choice and something to look forward to. We booked a twin concierge veranda cabin on deck 9, apparently there are no PH twin cabins (according to our TA), we don’t ...
Oceania is known for finest cuisine at sea but it seemed its quality has gone a bit downhill. The dish presentation is very dull and seemed many people can do a better job at home. In general service is good but could be better as it named itself as luxury cruise line.
Entertainment is limited as the ship itself is not big. Sometimes you find not much to do on the ship. Luckily there is music ...
We enjoyed Oceania on past cruises, especially the specialty restaurants, the smaller ship sizes and the service. Other cruise lines are cheaper, but the crowds are larger and the food is not as good as Oceania.
Our cruise was 19 days and covered a number of ports we had previously been to, but we wished to visit Turkey, Israel and Cyprus.
Embarkation at Port Piraeus, Athens ran smoothly. It ...
The cruise had a fabulous itinerary and we chose it for that. We were not disappointed. The cruise was amazing and the ports were phenomenal. Everything was interesting and easily explored. Sometimes we had to travel a distance from port to the points of interest but that is often to be expected with a cruise. We could not have been more pleased with the choice of ports.
We arranged for ...
The cruise was generally excellent mainly because of the the variety of food, the service, the gym and running track, and the itinerary. I will not go into detail on those factors because you can read about them in numerous other reviews. Instead, I will discuss a few deficiencies aboard Nautica and suggest some ways to overcome them so that they will not interfere with your enjoyment of the ...
Oceania is a fantastic cruise line, up there with the best. The crew were second to none and the food is of course exemplary. We never had a problem finding sun loungers (despite many shaded sunloungers being reserved every day) and there were many day beds available at all times too. The show lounge is called the Sirena lounge and it is more akin to a bar/lounge rather than the more typical ...
We chose this cruise primarily by the ports of call and the reviews re the onboard food.
We struggled after booking with understanding the extra costs-primarily alcohol, very expensive, and gratuity on the alcohol (18%)
The “extras” on our room were $16 per day each which we were told we could change without problem by visiting reception; I had researched about this beforehand.
We had ...
We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and the amenities.
The passenger age definitely skews to the over 60 crowd.
The food was among the best we have ever had on a cruise ship. The specialty restaurants offered a good variety of dishes. The Italian and French restaurants were the better of the 4. As New Yorkers, we have no shortage of good steakhouses or Asian restaurants so ...
