Sadly the old Oceania is no more.

This was our ninth cruise with Oceania. We started on Riviera and were totally thrilled. Coming over from Cunard Queens Grill as the Oceania way of doing things suited us better. That first cruise was a 10/10 for us, and we’ve been committed ever since. The small changes that have been made are never to enhance the passenger experience. The food has slipped. Not always, but not as refined, not ...

We used O's Extraordinary Savings Sale to get our B3 cabin for a mere $1749 PP plus $300 OBC PP (which paid our gratuities). So, the price alone made this trip worth it. BUT we travel for itineraries and this one did it for us. We only had the 1 sea day, which I do not enjoy that much, but we had Athens, Kavala, Istanbul, Messina, Naples, Rome, La Spezia (changed due to weather from Livorno), ...

WARNING: Long and Detailed. Read at night when you can't fall asleep. Hello Cruise Critic Friends: I came on the Oceania Cruise board 1.5 years ago. I have been on CruiseCritic.com for many years. We have done over 30 cruises. I wanted to make friends, which I did.  I wanted to learn, which I did.  I wanted to enhance my cruising experience with Oceania Cruises, which I did. I have an ...

After Five Oceania Cruises...Never Again

We were spoiled by our prior cruises and very disappointed with our recent cruise and the sell, sell, sell underhanded charging for services. A few examples. I booked a $199 spa treatment and I had a $50 coupon. I expected a $149 bill with optional tip, but the final bill was $247 plus optional tip because they added service and other charges not discussed with me. Next, Oceania cancelled one ...

SIMPLY NOT AS GOOD AS THEY CLAIM

Our 3rd and final Oceania cruise. Frankly we fail to understand the number of repeat guests. I guess my main quibble is the quality - variable quality - of the food. It's like we are all extras in a restaurant promotion video who have been programmed/coached to play fine-dining guests - whatever the food is like. 'The finest cuisine at sea' is one of Oceania's mottoes. It just ain't. Raw poached ...

Gave 4 stars, because 5 is almost impossible. I don't understand some of the negative reviews. Oceania has been a great choice, especially for the price when compared with other cruise line offerings. Some people must expect everything to be absolutely perfect, which is really not possible. Complaints about the size of the bathroom? You should have checked the pictures and floor plan before ...

We enjoyed Oceania on past cruises, especially the specialty restaurants, the smaller ship sizes and the service. Other cruise lines are cheaper, but the crowds are larger and the food is not as good as Oceania. Our cruise was 19 days and covered a number of ports we had previously been to, but we wished to visit Turkey, Israel and Cyprus. Embarkation at Port Piraeus, Athens ran smoothly. It ...

Background information: We are veteran cruisers with many years of cruising in different parts of the world on different cruise lines (includes Oceania, Disney, RCI, Celebrity, Princess, Holland America, Cunard). This was our 30th cruise, our longest cruise to date, our eighth on Oceania and our first on Sirena. I have done several other cruise reviews on Cruise Critic. This cruise was ...

Oceania is a fantastic cruise line, up there with the best. The crew were second to none and the food is of course exemplary. We never had a problem finding sun loungers (despite many shaded sunloungers being reserved every day) and there were many day beds available at all times too. The show lounge is called the Sirena lounge and it is more akin to a bar/lounge rather than the more typical ...
