Great Itinerary/Uneven Ship Service

Review for a Asia Cruise on Nautica

The cruise had a fabulous itinerary and we chose it for that. We were not disappointed. The cruise was amazing and the ports were phenomenal. Everything was interesting and easily explored. Sometimes we had to travel a distance from port to the points of interest but that is often to be expected with a cruise. We could not have been more pleased with the choice of ports. We arranged for ...

An amazing journey, an amazing ship, an amazing staff

We chose this cruise primarily because of the itinerary and it did not disappoint. We made all our own tour arrangements at each port so I can not comment on the ships tours. Our room was fantastic and the service bar none. We found all the amenities great. We especially liked the Terrace Cafe just because of its variety of selection and casual atmosphere. We did enjoy Toscanas food as well, ...

Details on some deficiencies in an otherwise excellent cruise

The cruise was generally excellent mainly because of the the variety of food, the service, the gym and running track, and the itinerary. I will not go into detail on those factors because you can read about them in numerous other reviews. Instead, I will discuss a few deficiencies aboard Nautica and suggest some ways to overcome them so that they will not interfere with your enjoyment of the ...

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Sirena

Oceania is a fantastic cruise line, up there with the best. The crew were second to none and the food is of course exemplary. We never had a problem finding sun loungers (despite many shaded sunloungers being reserved every day) and there were many day beds available at all times too. The show lounge is called the Sirena lounge and it is more akin to a bar/lounge rather than the more typical ...

Background information: We are veteran cruisers with many years of cruising in different parts of the world on different cruise lines (includes Oceania, Disney, RCI, Celebrity, Princess, Holland America, Cunard). This was our 30th cruise, our longest cruise to date, our eighth on Oceania and our first on Sirena. I have done several other cruise reviews on Cruise Critic. This cruise was ...

Very disappointing

I always wanted to travel to Greece, especially Crete. The cruise line excursions were not very good - they did not accurately describe the level of activity. It was extremely rigorous. The shopping excursion in Limassol was a complete waste - they dropped us at the harbor and told us to walk. After a few blocks in what seemed like a slum with no stores in sight, several of us took a shuttle ...

I’m used to have always gone on sea goddess back in its day and crystal, so unfortunately my standards are really high. This cruise ship made me hate cruising forever. I don’t understand the hype. Old cruise ship trying to squeeze out every penny from you by investing the minimum. The food is awful at the main dining room. My sons school cafeteria lunches are superior. The specialty ...

Outstanding Cruise

We chose this cruise because we wanted to visit Israel and the Greek Isles. We spent 3 days in Athens before the cruise and 2 after the cruise. We have been cruising since the early 80's. We chose this ship because we aren't comfortable with very large or very small ships. 1,250 passengers was just right for us. Embarkation and debarkation went very smooth. The ship is well laid out. The ...

Overall a great ship

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and the amenities. The passenger age definitely skews to the over 60 crowd. The food was among the best we have ever had on a cruise ship. The specialty restaurants offered a good variety of dishes. The Italian and French restaurants were the better of the 4. As New Yorkers, we have no shortage of good steakhouses or Asian restaurants so ...

The 3 days in Israel

The itinerary was perfect for us giving us a chance to see Athens before sailing then 3 days in Israel docked in Haifa. The size of the cabin and Oceania's reputation aided in the decision. When we planned this we were looking for something going to Israel and the length of time we were going to be there was the most attractive aspect. Cruising to the Greek islands was an added ...
