The Norweigian Epic: MOST uncomfortable and oddly configured balcony cabin ever.

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Epic

The wonderful crew, fun excursions and for the most part good food could not make up for the most uncomfortable cabin I have ever experienced. I had been on this ship before but in an ADA cabin for someone with a motorized wheelchair. On this cruise I was in a regular balcony cabin. We had not gotten an ADA cabin but told Norwegian that we needed to be near the elevator because my cabin ...

This was our first cruise, an 11 night Eastern Mediterranean itinerary, & we booked it for a great price without knowing too much about the industry at first. Reading other reviews of the Epic on this site we were slightly worried, but we needn't have been - the ship is fantastic, & we couldn't have asked for better. Looking at the detail of others' criticisms it seems many of the issues being ...

Viva - a floating treasure!

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Viva

Ship: The Viva has the most modern design of any NCL ship we have ever cruised on, with a modern motif and artwork strewn all about the ship. Being in the Prima class, it is a new concept for NCL. Clearly NCL is upping their game to attract a clientele who will pay a little more for a more upscale experience. We’ve cruised on multiple NCL ships (large and small), but this ship is more about ...

First and foremost, kudos to the service staff on the ship. The spa and restaurants/food staff members are incredible group of individuals who are dedicated, professional, and passionate about what they do.Ropa and Jay at the spa are amazing! The unlimited thermal pass, 359, is worth every penny! Everyone at the restaurants, regular, and specialty, always goes above and beyond. we did surfside ...

Worst Cruise of my life.... Done with NCL

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Viva

We chose this cruise because it was the newest Ship, the itinerary (ports of call), and the feed back we got from people that sailed on other NCL ships including the Prima. What a waste of money..... It was a premium price to be on this ship compared to any others during the time including other NCL ships doing an Eastern Mediterranean route. We could have booked a similar trip on Celebrity in ...

Beautiful ship but...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Viva

We selected this cruise because of the itinerary. We had a late start through no fault of NCL which resulted in changes to the ports of call for the first few days. As a result, it was necessary for us to use a tender in Santorini and it which took 3-4 hours for all passengers to disembark. Very disorganized and no communication from NCL. You are unable to make dinner reservations for the ...

Worst vacation of my life

We chose this cruise primarily for the itinerary. Through no fault of Norwegian's, there was a port workers strike in Athens, so we departed several hours late. This left the shore excursion desk scrambling to help people for the Istanbul, Mykonos, and Santorini excursions. We only had one Istanbul excursion through Norwegian, so this wasn't an issue for us. We also chose to see Mykonos and ...

We sailed on the 'Viva' or actually tried to, but there was a dock workers' strike in Athens. Consequently, the ship couldn't leave until early the following morning, which meant that our first night in Istanbul was cancelled (as well as the corresponding excursions). Also, this apparently required a course correction which placed the Mykonos stop first, and Santorini second, rather than ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

We have just disembarked from the Norwegian Getaway after our cruise from Venice to Athens. It was my husband and I sailing and our 2 and 5 year old daughters. We started off the holiday with a wonderful few days in Venice and then on the final day we caught the train from Trieste down to Venice with many other NCL passengers. When we arrived we very quickly realised that there were very few ...
