Considering MSC cruises? - DON'T

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Opera

User Avatar

First of all I would like to say that the staff was lovely for the most part. The big issues stem from the ship amenities and services along with the food quality - all of which are dismal at best, I have never been so disappointed on a cruise. Elevators didn't work properly - skipping floors and doors not closing properly. Spa had no private Jacuzzi, I was over charged for a massage after ...

A lovely cruise on a classic ship

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Opera

MSC Opera is an older ship and you can tell in certain places where the fixtures and fittings are a bit worn.....but don't let that put you off. If you are looking for something different from the massive mega-ships with all the bells and whistles, then I recommend the Opera. It is a smaller ship but has plenty of quiet corners to hang out in and it never really felt crowded. Food The food ...

We chose this cruise due to the itinerary and price. We booked an inside guarantee and got upgraded to a deluxe balcony. The location was perfect. Very quiet and close to everything. The room was spacious, the balcony was awesome our our room steward was great. Only complaint: we could not get our ice bucket refilled since the machine the steward had access to was broken. This has never been ...

Have a Cpap?, Do Not Cruise with MSC

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Musica

This was our first trans Atlantic cruise and our longest (30days Greece to Argentina) I have Cpap machine and it requires distilled water. Prior to sailing I requested distilled water but that request was not fulfilled. Once on board, I made another request. The medical staff provide 1 liter of distilled water, which may last 5-7 days Before crossing the Atlantic (6 nights at sea) I ...

It was the only cruise boarding and disembarking from Piraeus at that date. First the positives. 1. Room service was very good. The room was cleaned twice per day. The whole ship kept very clean. 2. Crew was very professional always eager to assist and always smiling. Except Reception desk officers! 3. The shows in the huge Theater were excellent. It was clear that all the artists put ...

MAIN RESTAURANT : THE FOOD WAS WELL BELOW AVERAGE,TWICE THE BEEF WE ORDERED WAS HARD AND CHEWY, They had for main courses every day pasta (with no meats) and rissoto. The indian butter chicken it was a shame for the indian cooking!! In general, the food was tasteless,no imagination. it is true that we were spoiled by all other cruise companies (royal ...

This cruise is a very nice way to visit several nice and different places in a single trip. You can experience the greek islands, the ruins of efeso, jerusalém, cyprus. All wonderful and diverse experiences. You can visit the cradle of occidental civilization in a few days. We made the cruise with our two teenage sons and was a balance between education and amusement. They enjoy the night disco ...

We went to a 7 day cruise on MSC Musica starting from Piraeus in August 2023. While MSC Musica is neither the newest nor biggest cruise ship MSC Cruises has, we (mom and I) enjoyed the cruise. The itinerary is one of the best there is with Haifa, Santorini and Mykonos being the best destinations. Others were nice, too; I'd say that if you want an extra sea day, skip Kusadasi unless you really ...

Worst cruise I’ve ever been on

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Musica

We chose this cruise as we’d cruised with MSc 9 times before and been on this boat before. We also chose it because of the stops. The boat is very tatty and needs a re fit. Our balcony was unavailable 2 days of the cruise due to maintenance. Cleanliness on board is non existent. People walk into buffet restaurants in bathers bare foot and in damp towels and aren’t challenged. Pointless having ...

Eastern Mediterranean cruise: excellent staff, service, and great value from a US cruiser.

From a first time newbie cruiser: Family cruise centered around Athens, Greece for 2 week trip. Picked up MSC cruise at Athens, Greece in Piraeus port - 12 noon check in - very easy & fast check-in, luggage tags already provided (no need to pre-print tags which we had) and luggage delivered before ship sailed at 5pm. So glad we planned to arrive into Athens 2 days prior because we had a ...
