Having cruised in April with an itinerary that included Dubrovnik and not being physically mobile to alight the ship we thought why not try Cunard with an itinerary including Dubrovnik. Unfortunately not the best start with a seven and a half hour flight delay from Manchester. Boarding the ship in Piraeus at nearly midnight we were finally settled into cabin 8093 . We had booked a 'guarantee' ...
We chose this cruise because of itinerary, the ship was visiting some places we had not been to before. Cunard is our chosen favourite line for elegance, excellent food and service.Passengers are mainly Brits of a certain age so only a few children, there were however 42 different nationalities on board so it was interesting to meet and speak to people of other countries.
My only adverse comments ...
We chose this cruise because it ticked all our boxes. It went from Athens to Venice. It stopped at Dubrovnik and Split. For me it meant seeing the Croatian coast. This cruise was everything we expected it to be. We were first time cruisers. I had to ask the cleaner if we paid for meals. I was a complete newbie. For me the Lido was fine. It was fantastic to us. We had just completed ...
My wife and I chose this 3 week cruise on Queen Victoria because of the itinerary which included many of the Greek Islands that we had not previously visited. Return visits to Venice, Dubrovnik and Istanbul was also an attraction. The Turkish ports were taken from the itinerary due to security concerns which we fully appreciated with Heraklion in Crete added.
The extensive menus presented in ...
The title says it all. This was silver spoon service without trying. If you don't like formal then don;t come on board, but if you do - wow! The ship is excellent, the destinations were really good (and varied). My wife, being a vegetarian, had the most choice she has ever had on a cruise ship (or just about any restaurant anywhere).
This was unashamedly posh and British at its best.
The ...
We have long wanted to cruise the Eastern Med and in particular visit Ephasus, so when we saw a 7 night cruise on Queen Victoria, a favourite ship, embarking in Athens and disembarking in Venice & calling at Santorini, Kusadasi and Katakolon, we jumped at it. We booked a P2 stateroom on deck 4 which has the larger balcony. In the event, unrest in Turkey meant that Kusadasi was substituted by ...
My girlfriend and I chose Cunard's Queen Victoria for our eastern Mediterranean cruise last summer. The choice was based on the amazing port itinerary, Cunard's strong reputation, and reasonable value. We definitely did not go wrong.
The ship is beautiful. Elegant, understated, classy, perfect for the kind of cruise we were looking for. A nice size ship, big enough, but small and intimate, and ...
It was chosen by my father & mother in law to celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary. My wife & I and our four children travelled with them. The whole event was outstanding. It was my wife & I we experienced our first cruise and I would love to do it again, many times. The food was outstanding, the restaurant staff were outstanding as were the cabin staff, the whole event will be in our minds ...
We are about to embark on our second cruise in Princess Grill Queen Victoria and I thought I might add my oar because we had a Med. cruise last year on this ship that we enjoyed very much - hence again. The ship was gorgeous and transported us to a by-gone era in the grand and elegant style. It was a spotlessly clean, sophisticated ship and after reading some reviews here I think it’s sometimes a ...
One more cruise on the Queen Victoria, and we were delighted to find the ship as usual, in excellent condition. This classical masterpiece of modern cruising, if we may call her so, looks every time the same as some years ago, when we embarked on her for the first time.
As to the particular cruise, it was special, as it combined two anniversaries simultaneously: the 100 years of the Gallipoli ...
