Great ports, not so great ship experience

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Azamara Onward

While we enjoyed most ports and enjoyed our vacation, we were overall disappointed with how Azamara has changed. The biggest disappointment was with the quality of the food in the main restaurant (Discoveries). We've taken many cruises (and 3 others with Azamara) and can easily say this was the worst food we've experienced on any of them. While we enjoyed the quality of the linens in the ...

Excellent in most categories; and real misses in a few areas

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Azamara Onward

I have not been on Azamara in about 10 years for no reason other than much of my travel has not been on cruise ships but rather to interior destinations. Much has remained the same. The same excellent and caring service, the great itineraries which are port intensive, well-maintained ship (our suite was spotless and very up to date) and the food is excellent. But my same complaints persist. ...

Good experience with minor reservations

Review for a Greece Cruise on Azamara Quest

AZAMARA QUEST Sept 2022 Club continent suite. There were approx 520 guests on board (max capacity 690) Greece dropped the need to have a negative covid test the day we boarded!. The first thing our butler said was "there were only a few Covid cases in the previous week". Then mid way the captain announced 4 cases in isolation, but the rumour was that there were up to 13 positive . ...

Needs Work - definitely not a "luxury" ship

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Azamara Onward

After reading on the Azamara board that.. "the reviews section seems to get a lot of 'one and done's – and that group of posters is always more negative than those who have more experience (with a cruise line, and with cruising in general)" .. I figured I would post my two cents as a multi time Azamara guest and long time cruiser (Celebrity, Azamara and SeaDream) and a "Destination Expert" on ...

It's not a new ship, bid disappointment.

We were on the Quest in early 2019, love it and wanted to go again but COVID-19 hit. We chose this "new" ship for its itinerary and Azamara reputation, oh boy!!! we were in big disappointment from the start. Three (3) hours delayed at the embarking terminal after 26 hours flight from the left coast, we just need to check in our cabin and rest. We were very disappointed in the condition ...

Excellent experience with Azamara

We were a little hesitant about getting aboard a cruise ship again. The crew and staff of Azamara were excellent, we very quickly realised that we were safer on this ship than being at home. The testing at embarkation was swift and very well organised and we were soon given the clearance to board the ship. A small group of us were shown the emergency drill, then onward to our cabin. The ...

Having completed many cruise on Azamara Quest I was eager to experience the newest addition to the brand. Embarkation was very efficient although we had to first get luggage tags for our bags as Azamara do not send any in advance. It was interesting to note that you do not have to complete a health declaration anymore. Ship: Overall there was a new feeling to the ship with some differences ...

We did our first cruise with Azamara Club Cruises with Azamara Journey from Sydney to Signapore (18 days) in March this year (2018) and was very satisfied with ship, itinieries, food, service and ambiance on board. When we found a good deal on the newly refurbished Azamara Pursuit we booked this cruise from Athen to Rome. We were exicited and a bit anxious in advance as some reviews have been ...

Piraeus to Civitavecchia: Upmarket but not ultra-luxury

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Azamara Journey

After recent cruises with Silversea and Crystal, chose this port-intensive eastern Mediterranean itinerary for our preferred dates. We liked Journey’s Resort Casual atmosphere, but you get the room size you pay for, with bathrooms designed for hobbits. Unlike previous reviewers we enjoyed the entertainment: the excellent Standing Ovations opera quartet sang favourite tunes one night; another ...

We (family of 4 including parents and 2 adult children) were on the Journey in May 2018 for the Greek Islands to Italy 8-day cruise. We chose this cruise as we had previously done this itinerary, and wanted to return with our children as adults. We were blessed with wonderful weather and we were very happy with the ports. This was our second cruise with Azamara We were very happy with the ...
