This was my second cruise with Azamara and, booking very early, I landed a suite as a solo and "what a difference a suite makes." First time was in a veranda cabin -- not bad, aside from the notorious shower, but very small. The suite is essentially twice the size, the bathroom much bigger and the veranda wonderful. We travelled From Piraeus - Dubai on Azamara Quest, from Oct 29 - Nov 15.
We boarded the Azamara Quest in Piraeus (Athens) and after we finally got onboard, we started to have a great time.
There was a delay of nearly 2hrs to board the ship, due to only 1 customs agent working at the Port.

Destinations on offer were varied and interesting. We felt safe passing through the bottom of the Red Sea and into the Gulf of Aden because of the extra security measures put in place. After four years we returned to Azamara because of the route - from Piraeus to Dubai through the Suez Canal and Red Sea. It actually appeared as good value for money and we had loved Azamara in the past.

What a pleasure to be back on the Quest - - my four most recent Azamara cruises were on the Journey, which I also love. The two ships are equally welcoming; however I would give the Quest a slight edge for one reason: the entertainment. We did Athens - Mumbai in 2012 - first time with Azamara and as a result resolved to return. So 2013 saw us cruise Athens to Dubai.
A lot of crew remembered us from the year before - How do they do it? Within an hour it was as though we had never left.
Everything you hear about Azamara service is true. I now wouldn't cruise with anyone else.
