This was our 56th cruise and we know what a five star line is. This is not. It is maybe a 3.5 or 4.0 at best.
While the ship itself is in beautiful condition and creates an aura of old style class, it has not kept pace with technology. Our cabin had a 24”TV and no working phone. Internet was very slow and the App you are asked to download is next to useless. It does’nt even have a chat ...
We chose this cruise as it was perfect timing for our holiday in Japan. Our second princess cruise and we were excited for the adventure. From embarkation to the awful dining experiences our excitement soon evaporated.
Arriving at Yokohama ($170 taxi ride from Tokyo ) our bags were swiftly taken out of sight, our passports shown and our vaccination verification and we were rushed to a waiting ...
We choose to do a back to back (this was the first leg of the trip) on the Queen Elizabeth having previously (pre-pandemic) traveled on the Queen Mary on a transatlantic. We were a bit hesitant given the wonderful time we had on the Queen Mary, trying to manage expectations etc., but we were totally and completely overjoyed with the Queen Elizabeth.
Cabin: Penthouse Queens Grill....spacious ...
After over 50 cruises, I thought it would make sense to sail Cunard. BIG mistake. The Queen Elizabeth was coming out of a dry dock just prior to our cruise, so I expected to step aboard an almost new, spiffy ship. That didn't happen. There were broken items in the Lido, in the Casino, in the Laundry rooms and in the public bathrooms. And everything that was broken on Day 1 stayed broken to the end ...
Excellent itinerary 16 days Singapore to Tokyo.
PRO'S - Staff good, cabin stewards great - food excellent in Princess Grills and Lido - theater shows very good - Talks overall good, Sally Gunnell was totally in command and interesting. Ship looked good after her paint job.
CON'S - Never spoke with an officer, they never made eye contact and normal walked very quickly in two's. the Captain ...
The ship was nice and the captain actually made time each day to walk around and speak to the passengers. I also liked the way the captain kept the ship informed each day with daily updates from the bridge on weather and port calls.
The ship does cater to travelers from Japan. The food on the buffet was around 40% Japanese food and about the same in the main dining room. I would say the food ...
Doubtless, this is a comfortable and clean ship with excellent cabins ( apart from a hard mattress ) and has some very obliging crew, especially the butler and cleaner assigned to our suite.
Beyond that though: The number 1 complaint is the food, which is substandard at best. In 2 weeks we never once had a complete meal where we were satisfied. The meat was completely tasteless on every ...
We chose this itinerary because it was (primarily) around Japan during the Cherry Blossom season, and we travelled with a lovely British couple we have known for years. This past summer we cruised for the sixth time with Seabourn and, despite post pandemic, Seabourn (the newer ship) was as good as it ever has been. Not so Silversea.
To be sure, the Muse is still a luxury product but a step or, ...
Having gone off SS some years ago after 2 weeks on Silver Wind and 6 rich French Cigar Smokers spoiling enjoyment it was with some trepidation we booked Silver Muse Japan Itinery because it did ports other lines did not and especially chance to see KenroykanGarden .
The ship is stunning as is our standard suite , staff are lovely , food is great cannot fault any of it so far beautiful granite ...
All good all round. The food was a bit bland - we think because of the older demographics of the other passengers. But overall we enjoyed it. Bar staff were great and funny. Mask policy was controversial and some guests were a bit angry.
Took a day trip tour with City Unscripted - our guide was called Gabriel (Jewel) I think...he was excellent.
The burgers were good and we were glad we went ...
