Review of Silversea Silver Muse and trip to Japan September/October 2023
We booked a Silver Suite, D2D, with a refund for the air.
We used points, and booked Delta One, with lay flat beds.
We planned to arrive a couple of days before sailing to account for any travel difficulties.
We prearranged the transfer from the Haneda Tokyo airport to the Westin Yokohama,
The company was ...
My husband and I just returned from the Silver Whisper in Japan. A little background, we have over 25 cruises under our belts including 5 since Covid ended, this cruise being our 6th post-Covid. We have cruised Seabourn, Oceania, Viking, Azamara, and suites on Royal, NCL, and Celebrity as well as regular rooms on Princess and Royal.
The Great
The food quality and preparation were excellent ...
This was a strange mixture of everything from perfect to intolerable on a small ship luxury voyage.
One perfect part was the “door-to-door” performance, cost is a different matter, but performance was perfect. The limo transfers at home, via BlackLane, were on time and the drivers were excellent. The transfer from Haneda to the Tokyo Conrad was also perfect. The Conrad was an excellent ...
I took Costa Serena from Taiwan Keelun to Okinawa and ahi yuans island because of typhoon the cruise canceled our trip to Shiyuan but change our schedule to Okinawa and shortage all the time and stay a long que to get out of the cruise and manage is very bad and all the soft drinks no apply and food is very bad.
And always change our schedule no one speak to passengers all the people talk to ...
I was surprised the reviews of the boat were so negative. The boat is fine and if something is not right, the staff will fix it right away. The food was excellent, we had some very tender steaks in the dining rooms. I didn’t think the steakhouse specialty dining room was any better or worse than the main dining rooms. The Italian specialty dining room was an experience though, they gave you 6 ...
Having done more than 20 cruises with Princess, I understood what their “loyalty program” meant and why we aspired to be Elite members. Today is so different, the speeches remain the same but nothing else. Gone are the precious internet minutes; discounts in the shops are only on full priced items; no special toiletries in the bathrooms; and reduced access to the Captain Circle rep on board. ...
A second world cruise this one to celebrate retirement and selling my business at 73. Compared to 2011 the list of changes makes for a ho-hum experience. The major is that Princess has gone back on their Loyalty Programme that I joined 15 years ago, The major is that elite was promised free internet and now have to pay. That cost me 1000 dollars additional, Perhaps I would have reluctantly ...
Recently refurbished and wonderfully European. You will be disappointed if looking for an American style cruise, this one is more 'understated elegance'. Food was delicious in all restaurants and bars. Would recommend highly the gelateria Amarillo - ice cream with an ocean view? Yes, please! This gelateria served up a delightful array of gelato flavors, and it became my daily ritual to indulge in ...
We wanted to see Japan but time and my wifes mobility was limited so a cruise was ideal.
We enjoyed the cruise. 9 nights and 10 days around southern Japan.
Pros:
Speakers were great, food was above average. Breakfast was great!
Excursions were great - check out the 'shotengai' [covered pedestrianized shopping streets.. only in Japan, really cool]. There is a nice one in Kochi ...
We travelled on Quest from Singapore to Athens after a Xmas Silverseas Spirit experience and the difference could not be more stark. Yes we did a review after our Xmas experience and now compare the amazing difference.
Quest crew were excellent all happy and friendly and seem to want to be there and make your trip pleasurable.
