Poor standard and organisation

Review for a Asia Cruise on Westerdam

We’re do I start, this our first cruise and our last with Holland America. First the good, outside cabin good with great steward; have it all package good value and Wi-Fi actually worked throughout the ship. Specially dining was excellent. Band in the rolling stone lounge excellent but that’s about it. Dining in the main venues was an experience to be missed. Lack of organisation and it appeared ...

Not the Cruise line it used to be

We cruise a lot and travelled on the Holland America line before covid and it was fine. However this most recent trip was disappointing and an exercise in money-grabbing. The menu did not change the entire trip, that is to say French onion soup was the ONLY soup on offer for the duration - how difficult is it to make another type of soup? On the first day I asked for the herring but was told it ...

NCL has little care for customers

Review for a Asia Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

We booked the cruise because of the great itinerary (as advertised), which included port calls at the 3 Japanese islands. NCL had then decided to consolidate the 3 stops to 2 - only in Okinawa. The extra day was turned into a sea day! About 1 week before sailing, NCL elected to move the disembarkation port from Yokohama to Koto City in Tokyo. Despite of complaints, NCL's position was "too ...

Review for a Asia Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

My first time sailing with Cunard having sailed mainly with Royal Caribbean (14 cruises) and I was so disappointed. 1, the stateroom was nice but the balcony was stained and rusty. 2, the ship felt old and tired. 3, the shops on board catered for people who wanted expensive watches and jewellery, ladies clothes, booze and the normal Cunard material. 4, I didn’t purchase the $400+ ...

Worthless trip in Westerdam Singapore to Yokohama

Review for a Asia Cruise on Westerdam

Visa Services: told to get a Chinese visa by Holland at a cost of $1000; ship offered them for free while underway. Guest Services barely apologized and offered no compensation. Excursions: over half the guides didn't speak English well enough to answer questions or give commentary, visited sites were repetitive and boring. It was clear Holland had done no quality control on their excursions or ...

Worst cruise, disgusting!

Review for a Asia Cruise on Diamond Princess

Cruise review I consider myself to be a fit and healthy 32 year old. Yet on this 10 night cruise I did not stand a chance !!!! I managed to catch not one but two viruses - gastro and the flu. So I was out for most of it and truly devastated. It was not surprising as staff do not enforce any hygiene protocols. Passengers used their hands to rummage and collect food in the buffet (multiple ...

Falls short of the mark

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Regatta

Oceania bills itself as luxury cruising with gourmet dining. It misses both those marks by lack of attention to the details that separate luxury from everyday. The very first impression is when you are checked in. Instead of entering into a beautiful lobby, you are herded into the back door by the Regatta Lounge. Instead of actually going into the lounge, a staff member briefs a group on the life ...

Worst Experience in South East Asia

Review for a Asia Cruise on Westerdam

2-5 Cruises • Age 50s

I choose this cruise because I was looking forward to exploring and getting to know SE Asia. It was a terrible experience overall. The ports of call were in dirty, large cities where it was difficult to get out of the city areas without taking long bus rides. The tours were long, boring and we could barely understand the guides. When we went to the shore excursion desk, they didn't know anything ...

Worst cruise ever

This was our 11th cruise and 2nd princess (1st experience was Emerald Princess in September 2022 and was excellent) but was the worst ever. 1. Waiting for 2 hour at Yokohama even everything done online but to pick up the medallion. Suggest to narrow the check in window to minimize overcrowding passenger during peak hours. 2. Water shuttle horrible. Some disrespectful passengers picked up ...

Worst Cruise Ever

Point of embarkation was in Manila, this was the beginning of the nightmare in this cruise . Very chaotic embarkation. Port was too old and doesn’t meet international standards . No porters and we had 6 luggages we had to literally push through inside the building . Check in took very long and the representative made 2 mistakes 2x interchanging me and my sister’s pictures and personal info even ...
