My husband and I took this cruise with another couple. We have Diamond status on RCL but this itinerary was exactly what we were looking for and the flight deals were great, so we decided to try NCL. The ship was great, the food was good, and the embarkation and debarkation process was smooth and seamless. We will definitely cruise with NCL again.
We added 3 days to the beginning and the end of ...
Because of Covid this cruise was cancelled 3 years for us, but the Celebrity Lift and Shift deal gave us the opportunity to sail this cruise with same benefits as booked in 2000.
Ship itself is nice, sails quiet and stable. Cabin is a bit outdated but still very comfortable. Bed/matress however was hard compared withn our last cruise with the Solstice and Eclipse. To be replaced? Cabin steward ...
Good points:
- Good selection of food in the buffet restaurant and at lunchtime in the Epernay restaurant.
- Some of the music in the bars - especially The Storytellers.
- The Martini bar and its staff - hugely entertaining and friendly.
- Tuscan Grill speciality restaurant food and service. Excellent and substantial dishes.
- The pool and jacuzzis.
- Our balcony cabin - ...
Our first time in the Far East and I was a little apprehensive about this cruise but from the moment of arriving in Kuala Lumpur for pre cruise stay we felt very welcomed and safe. Glad we had a couple of days to explore this great city.
We picked this itinerary solely for our bucket lists, there were plenty of ticks! We knew Jewel was getting on, but she certainly wasn’t showing her 19 years ...
To be fair the choice of this cruise was mine, to celebrate a significant birthday and then explore a part of the world I have always wanted to see. The itinerary was very attractive, as was the price when we booked. I was also drawn to the size of Westerdam, being a small ship. First things first, the lead up to the cruise was a daily argument with Holland America over needing visa's for some of ...
Visa Services: told to get a Chinese visa by Holland at a cost of $1000; ship offered them for free while underway. Guest Services barely apologized and offered no compensation. Excursions: over half the guides didn't speak English well enough to answer questions or give commentary, visited sites were repetitive and boring. It was clear Holland had done no quality control on their excursions or ...
We were looking forward to this.....a lot!
We had booked a similar itinerary with Ncl 2 years prior and they simply pulled the cruise. No explanation, it just went. Forgot about that when we booked this. Gradually, this became a different cruise to what we had booked. ports disappeared, shore time shortened. Overnights stops became at sea days! Anyway, we were determined to enjoy Asia, and in ...
Booked this cruise as a 60th birthday celebration, and was very disappointed that on final payment we received the itinerary changes. I emailed NCL in December without a reply (this is now standard NCL customer service unless you email the upper management) We then received further Itinerary changes just a couple of weeks before departure. As I had paid for an overnight hotel in Singapore to ...
We are on a cruise in Asia from Singapore to Hong Kong and have to describe the experience as distinctly average. The staff are great and the food is plentiful.
The boat is ok if a little old fashioned and frayed at the edges.
However what we found quite remarkable is how things you would expect to be part of an expensive all exclusive package are extras. Wow do they know how to charge: ...
Wanted to visit this part of Asia.
Started off in Singapore with 2 nights in a hotel, loved it but very expensive.
Arrived on Solstice and first impressions was she is getting old and quite run down. Cabin furniture old and worn and balcony really shabby - chairs not at all inviting. Beds were comfortable and linen clean.
Most of the ports we stopped at were industrial, with a couple in ...
