Star Pride Panama Canal

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Star Pride

Chose this ship for the small boat experience and unique ports that were promised. Out of the 4 stops 2 were cancelled and we sat anchored for 24 hours at canal inlet instead of one of our ports. A casino was still advertised on the ship's website at the time we booked but when boarded found out it was pule 3 years ago during the retro-fit. I will say the stateroom and food were excellent. I ...

Cancellation of half of the original port of calls

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Star Pride

We have chosen this itinerary mostly because Bocas del Toro stop - a remote destination to be reached only by boat or by plane. Due to a alleged mechanical problem, this stop has been cancelled and we spent a whole day docked at the entrance of Panama Canal, watching cargo ships all day long - very unpleasant. There was no plan B for such a huge inconvenient - we could have docked in one beach ...

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Marina

We have been on Marina 4 times & once on Sirena. I won’t say there haven’t been issues here & there but I’ve found them to be wonderful, great excursions, great food. We always find plenty of good choices for excursions. Really loved the Italian cooking class we took in Rome. Lots of fun doing the excursions but even when we don’t take one Oceania provides transportation to a good spot in town & ...

A few glitches

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Wind Star

Decided to try Windstar after liking the smaller ship experience on Viking and Azamara and Viking River. Overall, the food was very good, the crew friendly and eager to please however we started off by delaying our sail away by a day due to "two small holes" in the hull that required underwater welding. This resulted in a sea day instead of our scheduled port of call in Cartagena which was the ...

14 Days Aboard Star Pride

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Star Pride

We did a 14-day cruise from Aruba to Costa Rica aboard Windstar Cruises’ Star Pride starting November 28, 2015. This was our first voyage aboard Star Pride. Our previous three Windstar cruises were all on the Wind Surf, which we love. Star Pride feels a bit smaller than the Surf. The Veranda, which serves breakfast and lunch and has indoor and outdoor seating, is located at the rear of the ...

We traveled w. Star Pride from Aruba through the Pan.Canal at the end of Nov. 2015 - We have cruised w. Windstar 4 prior times on their sailing ships and have been happy. This yacht is one of 3 that were bought and put into service this past year. In case of Star Pride, it should have never been put into service before refurbishment and updates. Cabins were very nice, but public spaces were ...

Trip of my Life!

This trip was a present to myself for retiring after 42 years of teaching. It was not a disappointment. I had a wonderful time, was treated exceptionally well by a most friendly, efficient, caring crew and ship mates. Everyone was friendly and open to fun. While there was an issue with air conditioning on a night or two, the ship was run well. The food was fantastic. After having a galley tour and ...

We had a balcony cabin on level 8. It was in a great location for us. Just up one Level to the Lido deck. The food was great as usual. The Matrie D was the same one we had on our first cruise. He was great and told him so. The staff was attentive as usual. We loved the 2.0 upgrades. Our favorite was the serenity decks. The lower deck was always full and crowded, we just went up to 14 and enjoyed ...
