Lovely older ship, staff a bit miserable
"Got used to the gradual reductions like the lack of turn down etc by now so hey-ho it was still a lovely ship and the days spent in the crows nest reading and watching the waves were just bliss.Yes, its an older ship, so lots of carpet etc everywhere but I quite like that, it makes things more 'hushed' and quiet overall...."Read More

Very Honest LONG Review - First Time Cruiser - only 2 complaints.

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Arcadia

This was mine and my husbands first cruise. We had chosen this as our Honeymoon so decided to do the Arcadia as child free and we wanted to see the Northern Lights. I knew this cruise would be older generation (I am 40 and one of youngest there) I had done my research and we booked a year in advance (one so we could save up and have balcony room for space and two so we had plenty of time ...

OUR MOST EVENTFUL CRUISE - EVER!

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Arcadia

My wife and I have been on 25 Cunard cruises and just three on other lines, one on the P&O Iona with the family, so were interested to compare Arcadia with Queen Victoria and Elizabeth. In summary, the ships and their feel are similar, the major differences being the upper decks being accessible on Arcadia but limited to "Grills" class guests on Cunard, so this gives more venues and open deck ...

This was our first cruise where we were allowed to dock post-covid lockdowns etc and we loved it. It was so exciting to walk off the gangplank in a different country and reminded me why we love cruising so much. I was worried the ship might look tatty and there were marks on the wall as we entered the corridor for our cabin and I thought "uh-oh, the rumours are true" but honestly other than ...

Even P&O couldn't spoil the fabulous scenery

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Arcadia

We wanted to have a holiday in August without too much heat and so chose this Norwegian Fjords cruise. Everything about Norway was fabulous, mind blowing scenery and lovely people. Having read some dreadful reviews of recent cruises on Arcadia we would probably have cancelled if that would have not lost us so much money. However, in the main our fears proved to be unfounded in most ...

New Year Cruise

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Arcadia

Chose this cruise to celebrate New Year in style and also to see Amsterdam and Bruges having never been there before or travelled on P&O before. Embarkation was fantastic with boarding passes being printed out at home before we travelled which cut out the waiting time to board the ship. All went without a hitch and we were straight on board in no time. Our cabin was very good, clean and ...

Firstly the price paid is a huge factor in the context of any review - your expectations are naturally higher paying £1000 per night than our bargain £79.00 each for a balcony cabin. At this value my expectations were certainly exceeded. We have sailed on 20 cruises, mostly Cunard, and this was our first trip on an adult only ship. I hadn’t expected much difference but it was SO much calmer ...

Great Cruise

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Arcadia

It was a great time to cruise with P & O on the Arcadia - 4 weeks away at the beginning of November when it was wet and cold in the UK. No flying, Southampton to Southampton via Madeira, the Caribbean and the Azores. Once the ship had sailed through the fog (the first couple of days) the weather was really good. Interesting ports of call and extremely easy to get ashore when in port. The ship ...

Very Good

Here is some info that I wish I would have known before I went, hopefully it will make your trip/cruise a bit easier. The car and ticket check in with security were very easy and relaxed. Just join the queue of cars, pull out your bags onto the pavement , sign your keys over to the waiting staff and walk to the terminal, your bags appear by magic at your cabin shortly after. Our cabin on b ...

Don’t be put off by poor reviews

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Arcadia

User Avatar

We really enjoyed our 14 night cruise to the Baltic. We have cruised with Cunard, Celebrity and P&O in the past and Arcadia exceeded our expectations. Admittedly, the atrium doesn’t have the wow factor of other ships but it more than compensated in terms of friendliness and entertainment. We found the food in the dining room consistently good both at lunch and dinner. The buffet could be very ...

Charming ports of call

Travelled to Southampton with Intercruises. A very comfortable coach, and pleasant driver. Speedy check in and then straight to the Meridian restaurant where we had drinks and snacks. We had cabin B40 and we were very pleased with the space. Balcony was a decent size and there was the usual facilities - kettle fridge etc. We had been a little concerned re some very negative reviews, but ...
