1-10 of 10 Eastern Caribbean Arcadia Eastern Caribbean Cruise Reviews
The sun decks on the ship were soulless. They were spartan and devoid of any character. The ship had just had a refurb and we were surprised how poor the ship was turned out. In the theatre it was either very cold due to the air conditioning or extremely hot. This ship has no WOW factor at all. It would be better “dry docked” and opened as an old people’s home. The entertainment in the theatre ...
The food in the Meridian Restaurant and the service was appalling as was the food in the Belvedere, as a result I have managed to lose 8 lb in weight not what you would expect to lose on a cruise. We did not experience the food in the specialised restaurants as this should not be necessary apart from a special occasion. It would seem that Kersh used these restaurants as the norm so should not ...
We departed Southampton for sunnier climes on Saturday 19 December.
Unfortunately P & O did not get the boarding right for priority pax and it was a complete shambles. They just hadn't taken account of the large number of suites on Arcadia as well as the larger than average number of Ligurian pax as it was a long Xmas cruise, and then the ship not being ready to board at the usual time. The ...
Cruised from Southampton via Azores to Carribbean and Madeira.
The Arcadia was fabulous and the staff in bars and restaurant superb, friendly and couldnt do enough for you. James,Philip and Amruta,Lenson,Sunjay.
Had cabin d25 but there was a backdraft and it smelled of wee and pooh. Bathroom could of been bleached.
The daytime activities need updating as yoga, waltzing, poetry, painting was ...
Having been on 15 wonderful cruises with P&O, on Oriana, Aurora, Artemis, Adonia and Oceana, the one we've just taken on Arcadia will sadly be our last with P&O.
It was lovely go on her right after her refit, as we were the first in the cabin with it's new curtains, beds and carpets. Huge cabin tv for those who want it!
The Crow's Nest had been very nicely redone... you've never seen so much ...
Drove down to Southampton, 4.5 hours from Preston. Had taken up the free parking offer ( also got a 300.00. on board spend). No hassles whatsoever.
Arrived at the terminal at 13:15, sadly it took until 14:40 to board. This fortunately was the only major negative point over the entire 3 weeks. The bottleneck was the security check - way way over the top, indeed worse that most major UK airports. ...
We had a wonderful time aboard Arcadia. The flight from Manchester was on time at 8 a.m. and we were on the ship at 2 p.m. This is definitely the best place and line to cruise with, straight through passport control onto busses and then to the ship. SO unlike going through US. Our luggage arrived at about 6.30 in time for dinner.
First night dinner was free seating as later flights were still ...
Arcadia Review, Cruise J601 Simply Caribbean.
Having just finished our first P&O cruise on Arcadia, after previously cruising on Coral & Island Princess, I offer the following comments and comparisons as our own personal views.
I can now understand all those negative comments I had read about Arcadia, she is definitely far less glitzy than the Princess ships, and Oceana according to fellow ...
First cruise with P & O although our 12th cruise. Impressed with transfer arrangements which were extremely efficient. Cases checked in at the airport and not seen again until they were delivered to our cabin. Similarly, on disembarkation, left outside our cabin and reclaimed at UK airport.Flights on Thomas Cook charter were very uncomfortable as there was virtually no legroom for a 8-9 hour ...
Before the Cruise
For the first time we flew down to Southampton. Normally we go by car but because we would be flying back from Barbados we decided to travel with Flybe. This part of the journey went very well with my wheelchair assistance working well. The irritations came with the restrictions on what we could carry, but that is the same for everyone.
We stayed for one night at the DeVere ...
