Deluxe Stateroom with Balcony and Bath/Shower Cabin Reviews
Our cabin was a deluxe balcony cabin on D Deck starboard side, aft of midships. It was very quiet and the sleep quality was very good. The cabin is of standard size, with a full glazed patio style door and a glazed balcony rail, which was cleaned during the cruise preventing any salt build up. There was no creaking, best cabin for sound proofing that we have had. The bathroom was smaller that we have previously enjoyed, has limited cabinet space (double on Oriana), but we did have a small bath. The cabin had tea making facility, a large flat screen TV, hairdryer and binoculars were also available. One point that we did not discover until halfway into the cruise, was that two useful drawer units were located under the sofa. Our cabin steward Henschel, had only joined the ship the day we did, we were quite surprised how many cabins he had to service. This was not a problem to us, he seemingly managed to look after us very well. Read entire member review >>
cabin in a good part of the ship, fairly central, no noise, good size balcony. Cabins immediately below us seemed to have smaller balconies and looked out onto the lifeboats Read entire member review >>
Very comfortable cabin in a great position pretty well midships. An absolutely excellent steward who could not do enough for us.Yes the balcony area was a little 'worn' as has been stated by some other reviewers of Arcadia, but a very minor matter. After all she is due for re-fit and I am sure that this and other wear and tear issues will be addressed at that time. Read entire member review >>
Our cabin was in a quiet location and a good size. We did not suffer from any rattles etc.
The bathroom was adequate and everything worked. However, we had one period when most of the toilets on the ship stopped working.
Our balcony was large but the doors on the balcony were not sliding doors and they were very hard to open. One lady on our table had a fall on her balcony and couldn't get back into her cabin for a couple of hours until she summoned help from next door when they returned to their cabin and heard her cries for help.
My husband found the wardrobes a bit too narrow for his clothes but apart from that we had no problems with our cabin.
On our cruise, the ship in general suffer from 'rust' showing through the white paintwork. Read entire member review >>
