Deluxe Stateroom with Balcony and Bath/Shower Cabin Reviews
Just come off a two sector cruise of the around the world trip of 47 nights. The cabin although comfortable and well kept suffered very badly from extreme noise from the restaurant belvedere plate and dish cleaning room immediately above this particular cabin. Large bangs, drawer noise and trolley trundles started from 6am onwards and lasted to beyond 11pm every day. It seriously infringed on our sleep pattern, even with ear plugs it was noisy. Complaints were made to staff, reception and in person late at night to the workers in this area who did not give any regard whatsoever for the cabin below them. BEWArRE this cabin is only good for those hard of hearing or deaf. It is not worth the money charged for this category and I would never ever book the cabin of A86 again. Complaints to reception failed to deter the level of noise emitted. It spoiled our cruise we would have been better off paying less money for cabins A90 onwards. Read entire member review >>
The ship has had a refit since we were last on board but the cabin looked a bit tired - chips in the cupboard, a bit of mould in the corner of the shower. Things that wouldn't really bother me too much. But on the last night I dropped my lipstick and had to crawl under the bed to find it. The lipstick went straight in the bin. I nearly puked when to saw the filth that had clung to it. I won't go into the gory details - let's just say that it wasn't the bit of dust you might expect after a two week holiday. Basic layout of the cabin is unchanged - large comfy beds, plenty of cupboard space, good sized balcony and bathroom. We didn't get to use the balcony - wind speeds ranged from 5 to 9 and it was a bit nippy outside. But we did choose a trip that took us over the Arctic Circle so what can you expect? We had 2 balcony cabins on 'A' deck but if went again would look for 'C' deck as we would not be overshadowed by the projection of the Belvedere buffet restaurant and lido above. However the rooms were spacious with good storage, a 2 seater settee and a fridge (useful for chilling water and wine.
The cabin steward kept the room tidy and clean. Always willing to help and always had a smile. Read entire member review >>
A76 Balcony. Lovely room but could be noisy in hot climates as people walking around on Lido deck above could be heard at times so when chairs are moved around the pool area in summer it could be very noisy. Read entire member review >>
